Default Katy vs Abilene broadcasts

Who will be broadcasting the game? Other than Fox Southwest. Anyone know if there will be live streaming maybe?

You better hope it isn't the Abilene crew. Well, one of them at least. Statler is terrible, he is lucky to get much right during the broadcast. Funny, listening to Pickett having to correct him the whole game.

If FXSW is a creature of habit, you can just turn the volume down in the 3rd and 4th Q rather listen to the DQ regional sales manager or the UIL VP of meaningless BS or the "best little Allstate insurance office in Pfffffffflugerstan" - the color guys they had were pretty good, shame they don't get to say much other than "Wow, someone scored! Back to the sponsors!" and get TSRN on the speakers....

I happen to know Chuck and he's one of the nicest human beings alive and I think he does a fine job as a broadcaster, keeping that country color in there.

Man, isn't that the truth. Everytime there is a significant play they are talking to the DQ man or State Farm Regional Director for 5 minutes...come on, get off the TV and let us watch the football game.

I've checked the comcast tv guide but they only show the Division 1 game - not the Division II game - tell me this is not true.

FSN Houston has the Rockets game on Saturday night. Unless you have access to FS Southwest on Comcast then you won't see the game live unless it is on FS Houston has worked a deal to have it on another outlet.

Or unless Comcast puts FSN Southwest on an alternate channel.

I have DirecTV with the sports package so I can watch the game on FSN Southwest.

I highly recommend calling both FSN Houston and Comcast to request that something be worked out so that the game in available in the Houston area.

Noticed that last week but I concluded they were excercising teamwork on the play by play. I guess that goes to show how much an outsider knows.

No you have channel 37 for FS Houston. They share a lot of programming with FS SW but they are a separate channel from FS SW.

Basically FS SW covers parts of Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. FS Houston coverges Southeeast Texas and parts of Arkansas and Louisiana.

FSN has regional networks over most of the country. They share programming of common interest. FS SW is producing the 5A State Championships and FS Houston is airing D1 live and D2 on a delay due to the Rockets game.

Agreed! I started a thread earlier in the year complaining about this very thing and got crucified for it. It seems everytime nowdays you turn on the TV to watch sports, they turn it into a freakin interview program.

I am sure he is a nice guy. Being a nice guy doesn't mean you were meant to do play by play.

He also has to let you know who is doing the play by play 500x a game, A few too many. Most listeners don't care who is talking, just tells us what is going on and get it right.

The team consists of Pickett having to do corrections every 30 seconds.

Per Sam Khan, of the Houston Chronicle, via FSN, the game will be televised in Houston on Comcast channel 76, Dish channel 416, and DirecTv channel 676 due to a scheduling conflict with the Rockets game being broadcast on Fox SW in the same time slot.
