Umm, yeah. Just about anyone who pays minimal attention to North Texas football.

Don't tell me he's looking at schools outside of Texas

He is a very impressive player. His size is rare with RBs today. He can run for speed and power. I didn't see him on one of his better production days, but he's one of those guys you know is a player just by watching him operate for a few plays. Physically, he is ahead of the game for his age.

Here's what I know, 300 yards and a cloud of dust.
My fave back right now, but he isn't getting the polls attention like some others.

Only reason I ask is because I run a recruiting website that follows the Oregon Ducks and he's a target I know we are waiting on the back burner if we dont land a kid from cali.

We need a bruiser back to go with our scat back we got already.

He's a keeper...like KT said, when we saw him he had a "Down" day....but he is as advertised.

Tough kid, played hurt, but the Marcus fans ought to be the ones to fill you in better. You'll know a whole lot more in about 6 months. In the meantime, Teas and others are already filling their dance cards down here for the 2010 class so a lot of the schollies may be gone, making it a better shot for ya'. Me, I'd like to see him stay in Texas, but wish him the best however it works out. Go to their website and check out his stats from last year, recognizing he played with injuries some of that time.

When we played them in 2007 we got the ball first and went 3 and out, or close to that. They then ran about 9 minutes off the clock and scored. Pretty much every series was like that. When the other team has the ball for 9 minutes of every 12 minute quarter scoring chances are few.

Hebron did a better job containing him this year (props to DJ). Hopefully they learned something to use next season.

WE knew how to get around that, we just let him have som real long runs, and then score. Kept them from controlling the clock.

The guys is IMO the best back in the DFW area. I can repete whats been said above but I'll add some more depth to it. He is a very big back that has very good speed. The off-season between his sophomore and junior year saw him put on some size and gain in speed. He has developed into a very patient runner that will wait for the hole to develop and then explodes. His power is unmatched by any back I saw last year. He was hurt last year by the lack of a strong passing attack making Marcus very one demensional. He was still able to gain a ton of yards and almost singel handily carried Marcus to a victory over Carroll. Marcus added a inside/outside running game last year and was able to do that with Hopkins. THe year before he was limited to getting his yards between the tackles due to not having the game breaking speed, last year that changed and Marcus was able to break the big one on sweeps, off tackles and power plays. One of his strengths is his ability to hold onto the football too. He is just one of those players that gets it and will be a diamond for whoever lands him.
I personally think he would look good if he stayed in the red and silver and spent his Saturdays playing between the hedges.

Thanks for the breakdown and thanks to everyone else for filling me in on this stud.

FAIL. They won only a moral victory, Carroll won the game. Unless of course you meant he 'almost' carried the victory rather than 'almost single-handedly'.

(cough)Jaterrian Douglas (cough)

I ahve seen him play a couple of times. Very good inside runner, but does lack the speed to be an elite back. Very very good pick up for the team that picks him up.

I love Hopkins' game. Between A&M and Michigan at this point though.

The speed is definitely getting better and if the improvement from his sophomore to junior year is made from junior to senior then he will have the speed needed to be that elite back.
I have not seen Lamar or Jeterrian in person yet.
