a$m gets new uniforms today

unvelling them in 30 minutes. Pretty slick campaign that they might have gotten a bit more mileage, but still pretty cool regardless.

They've been releasing a small picture each day. Big things might be a matte helmet and gray facemask. Facemask to me is not a big deal. I really like matte helmets though.

If I were an a$m fan, I'd like to see something that pushes the envelope a bit. Not Nike pro-combat type stuff, but if you're getting into a new era, I think something a little bold could be done. While they may have some traditions their proud of, I don't think the uniform is classic enough to be totally hands off.

We'll see shortly.

Can't say I'm a fan of them, but here they are. They did go somewhat bold I think. Sorry about the picture quality. Some better shots later I'm sure.

Love the vertical stripes. Hate the beveled, small numbers and small "Texas A&M". Would have preferred large, plain white numbers and no "Texas A&M."

Love the helmet.

Weird how the stripes seem more prominent in the screen captures than they do on the stills. I think the undershirts make them stand out quite a bit and wonder if they'll lose something if/when players do not wear them.

Funny how so many fans are worked up about the beveled numbers.

Not much you can do with helmet, unless you want to change the logo, which does not appear likely(understandably so). Going to the matte look is a no brainer I think. Doesn't look as cool as some colors, but you have to work with what you have.

Personally I think these would be GREAT looking, but then they wouldn't fit with the uniform.

^ I hate when teams put black in their uni's when that's not one of their colors. If UT ever does that or anything to their uni's for that matter I'll be pissed!

Not a fan of this Uni crap. The more it's done, the more diluted it becomes. Pretty soon, a 5 star is gonna rescind due to uni's - probably already happened.

ABSOLUTLEY, this has happened. Well, I don't know about a 5 star, but it is another tool in the recruiting toolbox.

I actually liked the white helmets, and I NEVER like white helmets.....

I don't have a problem with new age programs doing it. I have a problem when its programs with a tremendous amount of history and tradition.

I don't like seeing programs like Texas, ou, A&M, tOSU, Michigan, LSU, Bama, USC, NEB, etc. changing their uni's too much...or adding black.

Its okay for programs like Oregon or Maryland.

No offense to a$m, but I would suggest that they are the odd duck on this list if there is one on there. Personally I think the school colors limit the choices to a degree. In addition, take a look at these:

I like the new uniforms. I also would'nlt mind seeing Texas with an alternate black helmet or jersey that they wear once a year or that I wear every other game on ps3

Personally I always liked the uniforms A&M wore during the Lynn Dickey, George Woodward. Mike Mosley days.From the Emery Bellard days of the mid 70's through recently.
