    Default Dawson Opponents BEWARE

Since there has been no shake up with the AD and/or HC at Dawson, I thought opponents might want to know what the are up against in the 2012 season.

Watch the first play of this video, Dawson #58 on defense as he reverses field and appears to be in pursuit of the LT ball carrier. Instead of continuing towards making the tackle, he sees the backside of an LT lineman and attempts to injure him. These plays happened throughout the game and many are on this clip. There is no need for this type of play and there were no consequences for their players during the game. D@mn shame...

I mention this a few months ago that Dawson is the worst team out there and I am glad we have kicked there *** the 2 times we played them....also check out one of our kick offs where our guy went down to maybe the 10 yd line and a Dawson player threw a few punches after getting his *** knock down.....and with 40 plus flags being throw some how they miss that one also. I saw it...They can not defend the videos they might try but anyone who has watch this can not defend it...lets see

I think they even had a fight during 7 on 7....future prisoners!

Dawson is a bunch of losers and it goes to show how a much better team can come in and destroy them and how bad there district is..

This is truly a shame indeed. I didn't get to see either of LT's *** whoopins of Dawson but if I remember right the one last year in SA they had something like 15+ PFs and over 250 yards in penalties total. Sad, just plain sad that a coaching staff would let this kind of BS go on and it truly is a black mark on his name for sure.

I have no problem with a team picking up a PF here and there for a slightly late 'clean hit' after the whistle simply because a team plays that hard, but to blatantly pull BS like this is outrageous IMO and the parents should be embarassed as Hell about it and if they are not, there is little hope for them improving.

The reason I bring this up AGAIN is two fold: 1) The coaches, the AD and anyone with knowlege of it should be fired. 2) Teams preparing to play Dawson in the future are aware of this garbage, have the foresight to discuss it with UIL, their players & coaches and address any issues before they put these young athletes at risk to major injury.

There is no reason for peripheral garbage in an already physical sport. These idiots are going to end a kid's career before they are 18 years old and the Dawson program will be held accountable. Everyone in the stadium watched these plays happen, repeatedly, the fans would react vocally and the Dawson coaches continued to leave the players in throughout the game.

Obviously, the 31 point beatdown LT put on Dawson is not the reason reason for my post...

Could be interesting. I believe PD is La Porte's scrimmage opponent. LP is known for hard-hitting, but clean, play. They are also known for not backing down.
I'm not sure what I just said. But, it must have been good. You read it. Oh...and BACON!

I hope LISD meets up with this team. Dawson will think twice before fighting.

That's great that LP plays a hard, clean game. Backing down is not the issue...if your star player is laying down on the turf with a snapped leg due to a cheap shot unrelated to the play itself...that's the issue.

LT beat the living sh1t out of Dawson with clean, smashmouth football in the semis in '09 (52-0 at half) and '11 (45-14)...so, it's not about backing down here. I hope LP prepares accordingly and beats them down!

What really stands out is that it was the first offensive play that LT ran in the game. Not like the frustration that had a chance to kick in like it did later in the game (not acceptable, either). The same type of plays happened when LT met Dawson at Kyle Field in 2009. I remember a Dawson defensive player lined up against an LT slot receiver and straight up kicked him in the groin as he came off the line.

This would be interesting for Guyer. Since around here they've been referred to as "future inmates". Of course , it was a label given to our 2010 team by some slightly ( or not so slightly) butt hurt Dragons. So now we're "thugs. It seems we should meet up with this DAWSON...

Honest question -- not trying to inflame reactions, just curious: why did both team have SOOOO many penalties?

Dawson had 23 for 174 yds
LT had 18 for 140 yds

Both set of numbers are, quite frankly, pretty damn embarrassing from a sportsmanship perspective. They are also way above the teams' norm, like 3x their season averages. I see a lot of posts about Dawson's lack of discipline and poor sportsmanship, but let's face it -- 18 penalties for 140 yards doesn't exactly scream discipline on LT's part.

I've only seen a few highlight videos. It's hard to judge a game from those.

What really happened, and why did both teams get pasted for so many penalties?

Did you go to the game? If you were there, then you would know that 3 of Dawson's penalties were unsportsmanlike penalties (the only 3 they flagged anyway) and no unsportsmanlike penalties for LT. Most of LT's penalties were motion penalties as the spread is about timing and the timing was off. No excuse for LT's lack of discipline. There is a difference between sportsmanship and discipline. 18 penalties and 140 yards for LT have nothing to do with sportsmanship.

Regarding Dawson's performance...you had to be there to truly appreciate it !!!
