Default Toughest District Ever in Texas history?

Four teams that have multiple state titles, including one ring in the past five years, now all in one district with Kilgore dropping to 4a.

I say this could be the toughest district ever assembled. Bullard also dropping to 3a.

    District 16
    Bullard
    Gilmer
    Gladewater
    Henderson
    Kilgore
    Longview Spring Hill
    Tyler Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill and Henderson just played each other for the championship in 2010. Chapel Hill won a repeat this past season, while Henderson lost in the semis to Alvarado.

Throwing in Gilmer and the others does indeed make it a tough one.

I don't know who has what coming back - but you know there's gonna be a good team miss the PO's over the next two years. I still don't understand how Bullard drops to 3-a when it's in the growth corridor south of Tyler. Whitehouse is now almost as big as John Tyler.

Man winning that district will be harder than winning state.

What are you talking about? Bullard has always been in class 3a. Whitehouse is almost bigger than JT uh no. JT turned in 1800+ and Whitehouse turned in 1300+.

Wow. That's gonna be incredibly tough. District play will be like a playoff game every week, practically. Even Gladewater showed some signs of their 80's prominence this year.

Chapel Hill...won this year....they lost to Henderson last year. Henderson 2010 Champs...Chapel Hill 2011 Champs. Was one game away from rematch.

Absolutely correct. For some strange reason, I thought Chapel Hill won the year before.

Sad thing about it is that, I was at Cowboys Stadium on that Friday night when Henderson and Chapel Hill played.

Am I getting that old at only the age of 30?

Bullard has always been 3A if I'm not mistaken.

Spring Hill is gonna' get dunky stomped every week. There's just no athletes in that portion of Longview.

I have to go with the "old" 4-5A! O. Permian, M. Lee. A. Cooper and SA Central!

You are correct, it will be a tough district. Possibly the toughest in Texas this year. But when you say the toughest EVER, well that's a pretty stout comment. As sltnusmc said, the "old" 4-5a was a pretty stout district. The "old" district comprising of Plano, Plano West, Plano East, Allen, Flower Mound, Flower Mound Marcus, Lewisville, and Hebron was pretty stout also. If I remember correctly, at one time 4 of these teams were ranked in the top 20 statewide at the same time and over the course of the season, 6 of these teams were ranked in the top 20. I'd say that district was rather stout, although I would argue even that would not qualify as the toughest district in Texas EVER.
