Coach Faith is a good guy and a good coach, but word on the street is that he wasn't the second or even third choice.
There have been a lot of changes in leadership over at Cy Woods and it has not been a coincidence. There is definately a lot of smoke in the Woods that may surface in to a huge fire...![]()
With the Cy Woods program running as smooth as it has been since it's opened why in the world woul you hire somebody from the outside???? the OC and DC there were both very solid choices and would've kept the cy woods program rolling in the right direction. Sometimes I wonder what cfisd is thinking when they hire people....
Even funnier was the small group of Woodlands students who came and sat in our section thinking that Woods was going to mop up in Game 2. They were throwing F bombs and just generally being the original "Occupiers". I'm surprised they didn't have a glass of Chianti in their hands the way they were dressed. But I digress. As soon as it was apparent Falls was taking the series, they tried to quietly get up and leave - but we made sure their departure was very noticeable. We waved at them and thanked them for dropping by. They weren't smiling.![]()

Apparently they both were considered first and I heard that one was even offered the position. There is an internal mess apparently so bad that one of those two turned down the job and is looking to coach elsewhere while the other was grilled about questions that he had no knowledge of relating to ethics of letting "the kids run the program" so to speak.
The job was all but taken when they decided to reopen the position and "go in a different direction". Something is definately fishy about the whole situation and you wonder if what really was going on at Woods will come to the surface any time soon.
I'm not stirring the pot, this is what I have heard from a reliable source. As I have said before I have had a lot of respect for the Woods staff and have considered them to be one of the best staffs in the district, but apparently all was not as it appeared in Pleasantville...

Who is the next run-n-gun qb in line at Woods?
Back From The Dead!
I believe Nate German is the upcoming QB in 2012. He split time last year and has a chance of being of of the best QB's in the District. CDUB probably knows more info - unless CDUB is stopping by St Pius everyday on his way to work trying to get the Stewart kid to Cy-Woods.
Congrats to ex-Cy-Creek Coach Danny Ramsey. I just got a note from him telling me he landed the Tomball Head Coaching job.
Coach Ramsey left Cy-Creek a couple years ago for 4A Waco High School and did a great job there.
Good luck to Coach Ramsey!
Our season will hinge on German. He has displayed great skill working his way up the ranks and if he does well then we will have a big year. If not we are in big trouble. He doesn't fit the mold of most of our recent qb's because he is not a tough runner, but he is a better passer than we have had before. The underclassmen below him are great runners, but not very good at passing and they are not being developed. (They will be up on varsity at other postions instead of playing qb on JV and working on their passing. )
I hope the Coaching change isn't disruptive for us, but I am concerned that it will be. I wouldn't be surprised to see some more shake up in the staff over the summer.
All four (4) 17-5a baseball teams are still alive in the playoffs after their sweep of the Aldine district last week and the Katy district this weekend .... Congrats to these 4 teams making it to the 3rd round.
I think this next round pits Cy-Creek vs Cy-Woods and Langham vs Ranch.
Cy-Creek
Cy-Woods
Langham Creek
Cy-Ranch
