there is still a chance that cinco ranch could also join katy in d2....Katy and Cinco are both 5-0 and are locks for playoff spots....we know that Katy, aka big red, will go d2 no matter what happens.
Morton Ranch controls their own destiny. they can wrap up their first trip to the state playoffs and capture the 19-5A D1 top seed with a win on thursday night over Cinco Ranch. if Morton Ranch losses, it opens the door for Seven Lakes.
Seven Lakes will have to beat Memorial on Friday to stay in the hunt or they will be eliminated from playoff contention. They also will have to beat Memorial by at least two touchdowns, if they have to come down to point differential in the games between Seven Lakes, Memorial and Morton Ranch.
Memorial can wrap up a playoff spot with a win over Seven Lakes, and they will be the second seed from 19-5A in d2...Memorial parlayed a trip to the state semifinals last year from this same spot, but they did not have big red standing in their way, and they saw a lot of red on friday, losing 45-0 to the tigers.
