My Grandson got a scholarship to West Virginia. Didn't a Wylie player go to West Virginia also?

wooooo hooooooo GO PIRATES!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year was the first year I didn't go to any any games. Couldn't because of my work schedule. The previous season, I might have gone to 3 games because I was living in Palestine. Before that... I missed about 3 games total in 10 years or so. Hopefully I can get back into the grind and go to most of the games.

Is it me or is this thread quite dead? I'll chime in. This season I'm trying to go to every game. Think I mentioned this before, but we moved to Wylie in 09, went to a few games in 2010 (including the final 2 playoff games), a bunch of games in 2011, and now trying the entire schedule if I can pull it off (wifey can't go to most games as she works [in Wylie], but I want to go to all, even the game @Sherman)
Last week at Sachse was a total choke job. No ands, ifs or buts. They had 1 or maybe 2(? can't remember) chances to lock the game with 10 or 14 point lead very late, but once again stumbled against a Sachse team that didn't look all that impressive to me.
Then again, I missed the first part of the game and apparently (ok, obviously) Kameron Kelly got hurt and I'm sure that changed things on offense.
Really looking forward to this game at West Mesquite. I remember the 2010 games (both reg season and playoff) with West Mesquite, epic stuff. Also last year I took my folks in town from Cali to their first Pirates game which was against West Mesquite and was a nice 16-6 win. My dad loves football and was/is enthralled with AHMO.
Go Pirates!!! AHMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There was a game in which Wylie played West Mesquite, about 7 years ago or so in which Wylie was down 8 I believe and had to win the game to make the playoffs. That was when West Mesquite was in Wylie's district. Wylie ended up tying the game and I believe scoring again late (can't remember if it was Overtime or not) to win.

I think everybody had wylie all wrong polish the rough edges on the qb and you have one hell of a team the d is starting to mirror the 2008 d they gave sachse and west mesquite all they wanted just need a little polishing in the secondary even though they are 0-2 I see it coming down to a three way dog fight for district maybe two way cause east isnt very deep
Yeah I think you are right as to the D, but polishing the rough edges on the QB is an understatement. They need Kameron Kelly back.
What's the word on him? I tried asking a few people at the West Mesquite game was the latest is on Kelly, and nobody knew. He's coming back, right? Soon, right?
Thanks.
Are they in the class of East?
Not sure what you mean here, but here are my thoughts on Wylie vs. Wylie East.
1. Wylie is deeper, but Wylie East has a better starting 22.
2. Wylie East has a much more polished coaching staff. Yes, Howard for Wylie has been a coach longer, but Howard is stubborn. Lepsis knows how to play to his players strengths, and Lepsis is a very 3-4 oriented, knows how to minimize damage on the defensive side.
3. Three years ago I would not have seen this coming, but with the recent successes of Wylie East, I am rather disappointed that Wylie can't hold their weight in the Wylie ISD. They need some fixes, but I'm not sure that will be coming any time soon. Howard being a defensive minded coach, should have stayed as defensive coordinator. I can not say we'd be in any different position had Ball stayed as Head Coach and Howard remained Defensive Coordinator, but for now those are my thoughts.
4. Wylie East will not be as good next year.
