I think there's an "Early April Fools" that goes with that.
My son is on Klein's team. Yesterday during their athletics period, Labay announced his decision.
Charlie Weis is a stretch though.
I heard rumor of this about 3 months ago -- didnt post it because it was a RUMOR & my source said to keep it quite -- we were discussing coaching possibilities for a common friend
So the rumor is true...Coach Stan Labay has announced his retirement after 40 years of coaching Football.
Coach will be moving on to spend time with family and his lovely Wife Carol...
This year was a great ride for the Klein faithful and Coach Labay was a big part of it...I will admit we have had our moments...but at the end of the day he is a great family man and treated all of our kids with respect.
I wish him all the best in his life after Coaching at Klein...
Now is the time we need to focus on who will get the Job at Klein...my two 13year olds need a Coach like Svboda at Collins..young, energetic, great discipline and all the kids buy into his program...top to bottom..I for one hope we get back to working with the youth programs to institute the offense and defense that they will run at Klein...
IMHO...Klein is probably the most prestigous HC opening in the greater Houston area...We are also rebuilding Klein High School with about 100 million so it will be a great place for the right high profile guy...
"Show class, have pride, and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself".
This should be interesting, who's out there that is the "hot candidate"? Coach Smith was a finalist for the Sam Houston State job, but didn't get it (not saying I wasn't surprised lol). That would have been 2 open Klein District HC jobs if he did.
