"Dancing is a contact sport, football is a collision sport."
yes I would play again! That is a great story, too. I really hope that I can get a copy of the game tape after it is played. Maybe they will show the game on ESPN 8 The Ocho. I am actually hoping to get one more shot in the pads myself... I applied to grad school in London, and they have a club league in the UK that plays full contact for a full season including playoffs and a championship. If I get accepted to school, I am definately planning on heading out there and showing the british how Texans play the game!

Yes!
I wouldn't pay to see that.
Can't wait til Friday - I am gonna be able to make every single practice this spring!
How long til Spring Ball?
Wasn't this a movie from the 80's with Robin Williams?
I must stipulate that I would play again if it was 40 and older with no one who could run a sub 6.0 40. Or if I could be all-time QB then I would want some receivers with a little speed but not too much. Id hate to send them on a go route and come up 10 yards short.![]()
WINNING STATE WAS GREAT
SAME IN'12 AS IT WAS IN '08
I wouldn't play on a near regular basis.........my initial thought is the boredom of actually competing against anyone near my age group (52).
Next off......I really need to have contact football (the only way it really ends up) done with at this stage in my life. Beautiful thought though.................................![]()

The thought/dream of playing again is great... but that is exactly where it needs to stay. I have embarassed #22 enough in his lifetime. If Train and Katt saw me play, they would never again ask me where #22 got his athletic ability. Train would say it must of been the milkman! Train and Katt... see yall at practice on Friday!

If I was the on the Phillipsburgh team, I would not want to play. They were heavy underdogs and they got the tie.
But, the game should be pretty good. If the players are in the early 30's, they should be able to play pretty well. I wonder if they'll run the spread or the old school pro style offense.

of course I wold play again ...hell yea!
As a matter of fact I'll be 42 in September and I can still suit it up I bet. Only weigh about 20 pounds more than 23 years ago. Problem is ... my knees would explode and I would run 7 yards and pass out !!! LOL!
but yes ... I would love to play again. Maybe my two year old would let me line up up him and throw a few forearms shivers on him, but only after he does up/downs for 5 minutes straight beforehand ... ;-)

With God........ ALL things are possible.
Here is my situation at age 61: all my years of continuing martial arts have given me great (for my age) athletic ability; I can run faster and jump higher today than when I was a high school footballer.
The throws I take in Aikido and Judo mean I could take getting cut in a football game - but.... while my muscles remain athletic my cartilage, ligaments, tendons, and disks are those of an old man. In other words I have so much athletic ability I can easily injure myself without anyone else having to do anything to me; I have to be careful to be smooth in my actions instead of explosive.
Could I play - yes but not for very long before I got injured. The real issue with old age is how much longer it takes to recover from an injury when one does occur.
"Would you play again if given the chance?"
I taught some students today in Aikido how to deliver a 'de-cleater'; I might play one play just to see the look of surprise on the face of somebody bigger, younger, faster, and stronger, when I demonstrate that technique to him.
So the answer is - maybe - maybe - for just one play.
I've got to come again on this......my knee was throbbing this morning even before working out in the weight room, cutting the lawn and shooting some hoops with my 14 yr old..........NO WAY would I play again if given the chance unless it was at a cookout.......what in the heck was the guy who made this thread thinking, starting us old farts into dreaming some crazy stuff like this. I hate you!...but I was envisioning some strange stuff....lol
