It's going to be the same story as always. Will they have enough pitching to make it?

    San Diego 63 99 .389 637 764 -127

Texas scored 901 runs last year. It's not crazy to think they can get to 1000 this year with fewer injuries and better years from the lineup. The Rangers problem was their pitching was worse than their hitting was good. They scored a bunch and still gave up more runs than they scored. I'm not saying Texas has to get down to the 600's for defense, but they're going to have to get down to 850 at the minimum and that's also making sure they keep up last year's offensive pace. Texas could probably win the World Series if they could score 1000 and give up 800. I just don't know if they can hold teams to 800.

Texas is going to have to give up a lot less than 800 to win a world series. The thing about hitting teams is that batters always go on slumps and without great pitching you are just stuck. The Yankees have a murders row this year but if their staff doesn't keep up they won't make the playoffs much less bring home a ring. Rangers put up 1,000 runs and give up 800 they will probably make the playoffs but all it will take is one slump and they won't have a pitching staff to protect themselves from it.

Pitching has and always will win world series rings. Bats can only take you so far as the Yankees have proved over and over this decade.

Yeah, and that's what I said back before they traded away Jim Sundberg and Hargrove. If they couldn't win then??????

Your theory isn't bad, but my point is I was giving the Rangers run production unlike what's been seen in a long time. A hitting slump for Texas is almost always multiple runs. 3 runs is a bad game for Texas.

200 more runs more than you give up is going to probably get you 100 wins. You might still get beat in the playoffs, but the Yankees and Red Sox have both had great years with 900+ runs and giving up in the 750+ range.

I wouldn't mind winning 3 out of 4, that means that rangers will end up winning 122 games...
