Katy hardley ever has any blue chippers and will not get that kind of recognition. With that being said, the 2000 team and 98' team were both undefeated and nationally ranked. Many would say 00' was the best team to go through katy. But its hard to compare.

Many people say that 03' northshore is the greatest of all time. But i think they were 3rd in the state that year personally. My reasonning is they have even to this day dominate teams with there superior athletisim, but when they play a team that has great coaches such as Katy SLC Trinity Judson. They will lose. The only prob is they didnt play any good teams, The woods was the best team they played, another one year wonder team.
That wasn't a shot at Katy at all. I was refering to all the hype about the 03 Dragons. The win streak, will they repeat, ect...ect.. I was proud of those kids just like I'm proud of each year's squad. That said I've always felt that there was a rush to annoint them. While I realize that many felt the 03 Tigers weren't as strong as other Tiger teams, I also never understood the perception that they were gonna get walked all over. It was still Katy & that program had plenty of skins on the wall in 03. For the record, I've felt the same way about North Shore for many years. They just rarely play anyone until the playoffs roll around. They sure have set out to change that this year, though.

I was on that 03' team and all i read about was the win streak, pick your poison, and how yall hadnt been losing a game at half time. The whole time yall were still new to 5 a and im thinkin. Who the hell is southlake Carrol. lol. Also the team was out walkin to see the last Samari in theaters, the night before, and man did the Southlake fans love yelling out there win streak. lol. That was a great weekend.

Too bad we didnt take care of buisness in 04' that would have been a great rematch. Hopefully we will get a rubber match this year.

We'll meet up sooner rather than later. Of that, I have no doubt. I know this isn't a news flash but I sure wanted to see these two meet this year. Both sides at full strength, would have been another all timer, imo.

    1. SLC (2005)
    2. More impressive rush-yds in a season: RB-Ken Hall (SHS-1957 w/ 4000 yds... most impressive season, period)
    3. DE-Jesse Warren (Carter)
    4. Permian (80's... too many state title games/wins)
    5. Houston Yates Defense (1985) (in a close one)
    6. QB-Steve Clements (Huntsville)
    7. RB-Cedric Benson (Midland Lee)?
    8. More impressive HS career: Graham Harrell (Ennis)
    9. Eric Dickerson (Sealy)
    10. Daingerfield Defense (1983 w/ Record-14 Shutouts) (adjusted for classification, still amazing)
    11. Better win-streak: neither - Sealy with 48 straight
    12. If I were looking for a HC, gimme: HC-G.A. Moore Jr (turned around too many schools)
    13. DB-Jim Linnstaeder (50's-Brenham w/ 59 Ints)
    14. RB-Earl Campbell (John Tyler)
    15. Better District: 3-5A (From 1980-2007)
    16. Better Stadium: no comment - haven't checked out GCS in person
    17. WR-Roy Williams (Permian)
    18. Better Run-QB: Marcus Stiggers (Lake Highlands)
    19. Who would win most annual contests over past 15 yrs: (4A) La Marque (in a landslide)
    20. 1996-Austin Westlake
    21. David Overstreet (1975-Big Sandy) (in a tough one)
    22. OL-Leonard Davis (Wortham)
    23. HS O/D Linemen: Big/Fast/Agressive (hybrid of the two)
    24. Grinding game (great defense/17-14?)
    25. Would you prefer to be a: Record-breaking QB (because that means he has MULTIPLE weapons that are getting a look for college)

Hard for me to say really.

Your '05 squad was a fine unit.

Katy '07 was better than '05 Katy in many ways. I don't know the outcome but I'll guarantee it would have been a great matchup.

As for the other Katy teams, I think some teams would match up better to your '05 than our '05 did. I think a few of the other teams might have given you a better game because of it.
Our '07 was very similar to your '05.
