According to my buddy Texas Bob, here are some interesting seating capacities of a few stadiums.
Shotwell, Abilene - 15075
Ratliff, Odessa - 19302
Abe Martin, Lufkin - 10000
Rhodes, Katy - 9768
Dragon, Southlake - 9000
Pennington, Euless - 12000
I've attended games in Odessa at the old W.T. Barrett which held approx.
18k and it was standing room only.
Katy packs the home side most every game. In '94 against Plano at Kyle Field, those nice guys wouldn't let us sit in the upper deck and we were stretched from end zone to end zone.![]()

With God........ ALL things are possible.
Quick! Someone from Katy post the picture from the Cinco game! You know the one!

GISD fan bases are smaller than we would wish - but they draw as well as most multiple school suburban school districts (nothing like Plano, Katy, SLC, etc). Naaman had about 4500 at their game vs. Garland this year.
Garland usually has the most fan support - end of last year notwithstanding. The Owls draw good crowds to playoff games - again, nothing like Trinity or SLC, but okay...
"We had a great offense. Some people say we were one- dimensional by only running the ball, but if it's not broke, don't fix it, and if they can't stop the run, we're going to run it down your throat." -Adam Taylor, RB Katy
Actually if you took the equation, (# of fans ) less (# of haters), my guess is the ones of the top of the list are:
in no particular order:
ET
GPNS
Lufkin
Abilene
On the other end of the spectrum:
Katy
SLC
TWHS
TWCP (they're guilty by association and by way of their school name)
Highland Park
Trinity has a good following but I'm not sure I'd put them in the top five. I was really impressed with Permian in the playoffs. Those folks know how to create a game day atmosphere like no other.
Is this playoffs or just any game?
