I don't think they have 5,000. Aren't those schools only 11 and 12th grades? Still huge for only 2 years.

No, those aren't the numbers that go to the campus. Plano West only has about 2,000 kids on campus and Plano has about 2,500 (not sure about East). The extra numbers come from the 9 - 10 Feeder schools.

Well, it looks like Katy is a shoe-in for Div 2 unless Seven Lakes pulls a Southlake Carroll their first year in 5A. But I don't think Carroll was 1-19 their two 4A seasons prior to their 5A arrival, so dont count on that.

not all of 'em. Skyline is a 9-12 school. but i can guarantee you this, next re-alignment, our numbers should be down. Apparently(i don't know all the details because I've already graduated) the fire marshal has an almost daily appearance, if you know what I mean.

So who is the smallest, non-private, non-opted up, legit 5A school?

Yeah a big school like that they would have to break into two separate campuses its still a large number talent wise for extracurricular activities

If Carroll only counted 11-12, they would turn in 1,200. Plano East High has almost as many students as the entire Carroll district.

NB moved up from 4A and ended up not even being the smallest 5A school in 26-5A. Surprised Reagan shrunk so much, but im sure that won't last.

O'Connor's enrollment dropped because a large portion of it's old feeder area is now redistricted to Brandeis HS

Same thing with Reagan and Lady Bird Johnson HS

Yeah, but the NB Herald-Zeitung reported Reagan with a lot more than that.

    2085 was the cutoff.
One number is wrong: La Joya Palmview cannot have 2013 as they didn't opt up, so they must be above 2085. Maybe 2013 is the 9-11 number and they're really at 2700.

Jesuit and Strake have their numbers doubled for division placement purposes, so JCP has 2058 students. This would be the first alignment where we should be in 4A but can't by UIL rules.

And I've heard that DISD is planning on moving the Skyline magnet elsewhere because 5000 kids is simply too big.

But it does depress me that the UIL would place a school with 4A numbers in with 4 of the 7 largest schools in the state and country (Jesuit with PISD and Allen). If they'd thrown in Skyline we'd have a party.
