How come every year the Mojo QB is always some goofy 20 something number instead of something between 1-19 like most QBs? I've seen this by other players and teams but it seems year in and year out Permian's QB is a 20 number. Just wondering.

They don't learn to count to ten until college.![]()
It's a tradition. The Permian QB usually wears #20 or #25.
Why ask Why?![]()
i believe back in the wing t days, the qb was the 2 back, so he always wore the 20, or 25 number. i think it just turned into a tradition. when mills came in he changed all the numbers. i believe coach smith went back to the permian traditions as far as the numbers.
mm21 is correct and the 20/25 became a tradition staple during the gene mayfield era. jim cashion issued backfield jerseys 20 through 39 in 1964. mayfield designated the qb number in '65. the rest is history.
for many years(until the 80's), plano never had any numbers lower than 20. therefore, the qb had to be in the 20's. no set number, however.
the harder i work, the luckier i get to pay more taxes so someone unluckier than me doesn't have to work so hard
No one needs luck or even best wishes when all are pulling in the same direction
let's get'r done-cs rip
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse
But mostly, the Cowboys have become the Kardashians of the NFL - with no discernible talent, famous for being famous
I don't believe the odd number/odd year is correct. A QB that holds the position two years wouldn't change his # from odd to even. Would he?
