The junior running back is looking to rush for 2,200 yards this season and shatter Billy Sims' OU record. He wants to win the Heisman Trophy. And he'd like another crack at the national title.
But Peterson said if doesn't accomplish those goals this season, he may never have another chance.
"My goals when I got here were win a national championship first and then have an opportunity to win the Heisman," Peterson said.

Peterson is done after this season and going into the NFL draft. There is 100% no doubt about it. I would bet a years salary on it.

If he left after this year what would that do as far as Brady Quinn being the almost guaranteed number 1 overall pick. Is their really a team in the NFL outside of Seattle, Kansas City, and San Diego that wouldnt want Peterson?

Why would these 3 not want him? These RB's are not going to be around long. I dont think teams like SD can afford to keep LT once his contract is up. It would suck to get rid of him, but it would be nice to have a mini version of him waiting.

Remember that Murray play for that same Bishop Gorman team in Las Vegas that just got blown out by one of our Texas 3A teams (Gilmer).
Not saying that he isnt a great talent. I'm just saying that he might have some inflated high school stats for going against weaker competition from week to week in high school.
I would have more faith in the kid out of Louisiana to be honest with ya.

Baring major injury, the #1 overall pick will be either Brady Quinn or Joe Thomas.

I think that the Texans may be a shoe-in to select Joe Thomas

Don't need to ask Reggie. I've played plenty enough.
And that's exactly why I said "the potential is there"! ;)

I definitely think the kid out of La has tremendous upside...the same, if not more than Murray.
We'll see.

I agree and they suck enough to get the #1 pick... again. After passing on D'Brickashaw Ferguson, I don't see how they could pass on an OT like Thomas. His measurables are sick.

Whoa! Here comes the aarogance, all over again. I would of thought the OSU game would have kept the sillyness to an extreme minimum. I guess you can never keep a good "burnt orange steak" down.:p
The RRS can't get here soon enough!;)

Oh no...they'll pass on Joe Thomas...and select a kicker out of South Dakota State. Then they'll move him to LB. And he'll be isolated from the play, just like Mario Williams. ;)

The same way they passed on a running back named Reggie and a quarterback named Vince in foavor of some defensive end that is no better than any other defensive end that was drafted this year.

Are we talking about the RB that can't consistently run between the tackles and a QB that has been relegated to the 3rd string on a team that desperately needs a QB again?

Despite the signing of veteran Kerry Collins, Vince is actually second string ahead of Collins even though Collins started over Volek last week (essentially making Volek the third string QB.

The QB competition there is so close that the Titans didn't even announce their starter until 90 minutes before the game. What I found impressive is that in a close game, the Titans coach gave Vince some snaps out there... not Volek... Vince. This is the same Vince Young that wasn't supposed to see the field for a couple of years.

"Can't" and "won't", consistently, are 2 total different things, or assumptions. If a 5'8 180lb Warrick Dunn can, why can't a 6'0 205 Bush? (From my playing experience I'd say he can.)
Trust me, Bush can handle 20 to 25 carries between the tackles, but why would you give him the ball, that way, when you could give Deuce the ball up the gut, and fling the ball out to the Bush - putting him in the open field vs anyone?
Vince may come into his own. Personally, I'm rooting like hell for the young man. The QB position is fighting the fact that it will soon redefine itself. The Vick's and Young's will give you the athleticism to do that. The speed of the game is just too great. Plus, QB is the hardest position on the NFL field to adjust to. A guy named Warren Moon was told that he wouldn't adjust to being an NFL QB, it ultimately cost him several years of NFL experience. I think we all know where he ended up.
