What I really love about the polls this year is that Judson will have to move up quickly when they start beating these teams in the Top 20.

I've seen a few polls with Hightower on them....maybe I should watch them.

makes sense to me, a metroplex involes less teams, a state involes more..

OK...but there are 8 teams in the metroplex ranked higher than them and only maybe 2 are ranked on that list? That what I was saying. But thank you for for clarifying the fact that a state is bigger than a metroplex!

I believe that the composite rankings would have put us between 27 - 35 in the state, preseason. I remember that most of us old-timers in the stands were hoping that we wouldn't goof up and lose to South or North and finish out of the playoffs. It was pretty much conceded that the top two were Mesquite and North Mesquite. Problem is, we didn't have any idea what a monster group of 9 offensive linemen that had developed, literally, over the summer. Starting 5 avg. 289 lbs., every 6 plays 4 new guards and tackles, and the second group avg. 297 lbs. The center was only 260 lbs and drug down the avg. on both lines. Incredible.

Gosh I remember that, Craig Jones was at center and he was first team all state that year. It was just scary to watch as the defense got a little tired here we came in with 4 fresh linemen! We'll have a great line this year I think finally with the new addition of a kid from East Texas named Jeremy just transferred in a few weeks ago (I'm sure youve heard about him) he stands about 6'4 300 and he will be an awesome addition to an already pretty stacked line.
