If your team needs this crap to get hyped and ready to go, then they are not ready.

If your team needs someone else bashing their school, team, program, whatever - then they are not Ready.

Bulletin board material is an excellent way to add gasoline to an already existing fire!! Never hurts to add to the hype!

The first big use of internet trash = bulletin board material was the Katy/Clemens game 2 years ago correct? I remember that thread was out of control. It is probably the reason half the posters today are here.

I don't know nor do i remember that thread too well.

But, I do know that a team tht needs that stuff to get ready for a big game is not really ready or the coaches arnt doing a good enough job keeping the kids focused.

Actually, I haven't seen many people from that infamous thread post much on here since the game. Our Clemens representation on the board multiplied by 10 or 20 that week. Only the logical Buff fans ended up surviving that. It definitely wasn't the first case of Internet trash catching fire.

The walls in the locker room should be painted a nice shade of light green.
Then they could sit around and hold hands and sing koom-by-ya.
HAHAHAHA.. That will get a team fired up like nothing else...

Or you could have the visiting coach poke his head in and state "butt whoopin-a-coming".

Either one of those should do it. :D

That was really Part 2 in 2003 and I had a lot of fun for a month with that one. I had an all-out war in November and December with Madison's fans over the 2003 Judson-Madison game. It far surpassed anything I did last year with other fans.

and i disagree with texas headliner, i think you can be ready, but the crap just helps boost you up and jump starts you right away

Ah. But it was that thread that made the newspaper right? I thought y'all had an influx of "lurkers" after that. Figured some of the them liked what they saw - outside of that thread - and eventually registered later on.

No one can forget the lonny vs Madison thread either. That was before no one took him seriously. :)

I've been thinking about sending an email or PM to Mavsfan55. She hasn't been around since we went to the latest board. I decided to call a truce on all the anti-Madison posts at some point last year.

It's probably not smart to argue with women who have kids playing football at a school that you dog out and call the coach all kinds of names! :D That was the one team that I truly disrespected and got out of line towards.

Hey, remember that guy from Klein that started on the ol for them and he came in here talking noise on how they were going to push Lufkin's d-line around?? What was his nic i forget?? The big something i think?? Anyways, one of the pack fans in here i am thinking PA copied what he said and he had 2 defensive lineman from the pack that are now at Texas Tech playing football in Mckinner Dixon and Rashad Hunt take pictures with a message to this particular Klein player on here. Remember that?? Lufkin went on to win 36-0 and Klein had about 90 total yards of offense. LOL Needless to say this guy literally ate his words. I really do think that motivated the Defense for that game because they came out mad!! They were looking for anything to motivate them at that point because they were having a pretty easy time in their new district.

Big Firm...I remember that.
Dixon had "Firm who?" taped on his helmet in the pic.
That was quite amusing.
After the game Firm was...uhhhhh...ummmm...uhhhh...what had happened was....

I can't wait.
I really can't wait for aggy to go 3-0 or 4-0 and suddenly they
all start coming out of the woodworks...It happens every year.
Then after another spanking by the 'Horns...they quickly disappear again.

Threads involving fans between two intense rivals during the season or between two opponents that don't know much about each other during the playoffs can get out of hand. In the latter case, you have some newbie posters searching around the net for info and find this site and feel the need to tell everyone why their team is going to win. One might have guessed Clemens was THE power of Texas football during the playoffs of 2003, by following the Buff homers that posted then.

Wide, during the modern era Texas has had their run, followed by a nice run from A&M, which led to a nice streak by Texas again. You'd be foolish to think this ebb and flow of football power in the state will not change the series again...and again, and again.

Post #199 Re: Let's Discuss Some Week One Games Reply

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How can you say week 1 and not automatically think of the HUGE double header in Indy Stadium? Springdale, Evangel, Longview, and West Monroe. Those are 4 teams that are all ranked nationally. West Monroe is by far the lowest ranked of the 4, but would move up significantly should they pull of the win. I'm not a Rebel homer. I don't think they'll come into this game and just walk away with it. Here are my reasons for saying this. It will be WM's first game and Longview's second. WM's offense only returns 2 starters. Now, if Ensminger is ruled eligible and WM opens up the offense they could really take Longview by surprise. Longview has a ton of talent and they have a better coach in Pat Collins. I don't know if the STAFF is better than West Monroe's, but Collins is better than Shows. Springdale has one of the top QB's in the nation and they just beat Evangel down last year. I could see both LA teams losing on this day. I hope they can both pull off wins, but I think that might be wishful thinking. West Monroe has knocked off several teams before that were ranked higher than them and had more talent. Midland Lee, Catholic with Minor and Applewhite, and Evangel in 2001 all are examples of this. We'll see in a few weeks if they can do it or not.
