View Full Version : Victoria to Houston in 2006????

I went to "media day" this past weekend in Victoria.

Anyway, Coach Campbell talked to the crowd and he said that we may be moving to a Houston district in the next realignment. He was in Corpus and talked to the AD in CC and it seems like they are finally letting Moody and Miller drop to 4A which is gonna cause a shuffle for Victoria. I don't know where Carroll, King, and Ray would go? Possibly the Valley?

Moody and Miller should have been 4A long ago so I won't believe it until February when I see it. Actually, I hear Miller has close to 3A numbers. EEK!

I think Houston would be cool, but I would rather have them here in San Antonio with me :D

Either way, a new district would be nice!

I really don't know. It almost seems like 5A is going to have several districts like the Alpine, Crane district in West Texas. The current 5A rules really hurt the single team towns and make them travel a long ways. My guess is you move in with Judson and Wagner who will replace Clemens in 25-5A. Laredo and the Valley don't have room for Corpus and I don't know what they'll do.

I guess the ultimate answer is to push more teams down to 1A and keep filling in from there. If you keep building schools in the metro areas, you have to keep making bigger and bigger districts.

Judson and Wagner probably wont be in 25-5A. My guess is that Wagner will be the 8th school in 26-5A, pushing Smithson Valley out of 265 and into 25-5A. Why? Simply because it makes no sense keeping SV in 265 and having it be a 7-team district with the new 4-team playoff structure. The UIL will want as many 8 and 9 team districts as possible as opposed to 6 and 7 team districts. The 6 NEISD schools and the 2 Judson ISD schools would make a perfect 8 team fit. This is the way I see it as of now:

*District 26*
Judson
Wagner
Roosevelt
Churchill
Lee
MacArthur
Madison
Reagan

*District 27*
Clark
O'Connor
Marshall
Taft
Warren
Jay
Holmes
Stevens

Del Rio won't fit in 27-5A anymore with the opening of Stevens HS, so look for them to be either a 9th team in the Laredo district or get moved to the West Texas district.

As for Victoria Memorial and the CC schools, who knows where they will go since there are already a lot of San Antonio 5A schools left over after 26 and 27-5A and Smithson Valley probably won't drop to 4A for this realignment after all since the new Comal ISD high school opening was pushed back yet another year to 2007... but here is a possible scenario.

*District 25*
Smithson Valley
San Marcos
Seguin
New Braunfels (always within 100 students of either end of 5A cutoff)
Jefferson
Highlands
Southwest
East Central

No room for Victoria Memorial and CC in San Antonio; many of the Valley 5A districts now are only 6 team district. My guess is that the CC schools are going to be in the Valley somewhere, while Victoria Memorial will be moved to Houston.

They'll probably move to the RGV, i personally dont want em' hear, but whatever right!?!?!!? this is the way i think it'll go

29-5A (NOT part of the RGV, but its in between)
Laredo Nixon
Laredo Alexander
Laredo United
Laredo United South
Laredo Cigarroa
Laredo Martin
Laredo LBJ
Eagle Pass

30-5A
Sharyland
RioGrandeCity
LaJoya
McAllen Memorial
McHi
McAllen Nikki Rowe

31-5A
Edinburg
Edinburg North
Edinburg Economedes
PharrSanJuanAlamo (PSJA) High
PSJA North
Weslaco
Donna

32-5A
Harlingen
Harlingen South
Brownsville Porter
Brownsville Rivera
Brownsville Pace
Brownsville Hanna
LosFresnos
SanBenito

the next alignment will move Brownsville Lopez to 32-5A making it a 9 school district BUT,

if you move Eagle Pass out of 29-5A and into an SA district because SA can make room because teams like NewBraunsfels and SanMarcos are always on the thresh hold of 4A PLUS, 28-5A can become another SA district, then we can move Rio Grande City to 29-5A to play Laredo teams THEN

30-5A will have 5 teams, and 31-5A can give us the 3 Edinburg schools making 30-5A an 8 school district and 31-5A a 4 team distict THEN

32-5A can have Harlingen, Harlingen South, SanBenito and LosFresnos making 31-5A an 8 team district THEN

Brownsville can have their own distcit with of 5 schools and include the remaining CC teams, Carrol, King and Ray could move into that district....

see i got it all figured out!!!!! :D

the Districts from 29 to 32 should look like this:
29-5A
Laredo Nixon
Laredo United
Laredo United South
Laredo Martin
Laredo Cigarroa
Laredo LBJ
Laredo Alexander
Rio Grande City

30-5A
Sharyland
LaJoya
McHi
McAllen Memorial
McAllen Nikki Rowe
Edinburg
Edinburg North
Edinburg Economedes

31-5A
Harlingen
Harlingen South
SanBenito
Weslaco
Donna
PSJA North
PSJA
LosFresnos

32-5A
Brownsville Porter
Brownsville Rivera
Brownsville Pace
Brownsville Hanna
Brownsville Lopez
CC Ray
CC Carrol
CC King

no judson will move out of 26 5a simply becasue north east is building another school. Judson will go to 25 5A with SV and wagner....add seguin, East Central, New braunsfels,San Marcos thats 6 dist games

Jefferson
Southwest
Highlands
Del Rio
Victoria Memorial

could make the other dist.

however if the Ne would just drop roosevelt and lee to 4a...then u could have

Judson
Wagner
Sv
Reagan
Madison
Churchill
Macarthur

And LBJ when it opens

I think Boerne moves into 5A. You'll have an extra Northside School, so Del Rio goes out.

27 or whatever they want to call it:
Marshall
O'Connor
Jay
Clark
Holmes
Taft
Warren
Stevens
Boerne

I say Hays, Crockett, and Anderson move down to 4A, so 16 will be:
Westlake
San Marcos
Bowie
Bastrop
SFA
Akins

NEISD will all still be 5A schools and that will be 7 teams in 26. Maybe if the new school takes a fair amount besides Madison and Reagan kids, you might see Lee or Roosevelt drop, but I'm guessing no.

Seguin, Southwest, East Central, and Highlands will stay in 5A. Judson and Wagner will be 5A. V Memorial, Carroll, King, and Ray will be 5A. I'll say New Braunfels moves up to 5A. SV will still be 5A, so it looks like the old 25/26 and 28 will be 6-team districts.

25
SV
Judson
Wagner
East Central
Southwest
Highlands

28
Carroll
King
V Memorial
Ray
Seguin
New Braunfels

I'll say Del Rio goes in with Eagle Pass and Laredo to make 9 in 29. The other option is to put Del Rio and San Angelo in with Midland and Odessa, which would put Abilene in with Amarillo and Lubbock. Look how much fun the UIL will have next year! :D

UIL is dumb anyways so I am sure they will make some moronic move like having CC play NB

ding it by area makes more sense for it to be

Judson
Wagner
Sv
New Braunsfels
Seguin
East Central
San Marcos

then u do what ever you want with the others but i like that district. No overly weak teams

The problem is I don't think they can go strictly by area. I think some teams will drop down and they're probably going to make teams drive through another district to get to one of their own district games.

I really wish Judson could stay in 26 even if the other 26 teams move someplace else. It's almost like the Cowboys who have to stay in the NFC East.

i guess....but u know that Sv goes where ever we go ... there like our leash or something.

Converse Judson and SA Wagner will more than likely stay in 26-5A for two more years since SA LBJ (NEISD new school) won't open until at least 2007.

And also, the UIL will NOT make 6-team districts if they will start allowing 4 teams to the state playoffs. At least not in the SA area where there are a lot of large schools relatively close together. Maybe in far East TX or West TX but not around here. So I would scratch out the 6-team districts in the SA area.

OH and BTW, RVG's district alignments look very reasonable, but I thought that Eagle Pass was splitting its super high school to 2 4A's?

I don't know if Eagle Pass is splitting or not. It could be true.
