Two teams looking to get a freshstart after disapointing seasons. Both teams bring virtually brand new teams with alot of unknown players. Expect Coppell Senior QB Kenny Graves to have a huge game in the air.
Last year Coppell came back from a 17 point 1st qt lead, to stun the Jesuit Rangers by beating the the crud outta them...
Two years ago Dallas Jesuit stuned Coppell by beating 34-17...
This is a new rivalry between Coppell and Jesuit for Coppell, they look to forget the past two years (and forget about playing slc for once).
Jesuit has alot to prove once again.
My Pick:
Coppell +14

Coppell has a great secondary and depth in the linebacker group. The D line is young and inexperienced, but did a great job against Trinity last Thursday. Jesuit is coming from an easy walkover with BLynch and Coppell played the defending champs. The difference will show Friday. We spotted them two Moody fumbles in the first quarter last year and then dominated the rest of the game. Btw, the DMN unanimously picked Jesuit to beat us last year and we won 59-24! I say Coppell 49-21.

This will be one of the first times in a long time that Coppell will have a young d-line, it ushally returns at least one or two starters. But Defensive line coach, Coach Jones. Always has a way of making that d-line work no matter what there size. As for the linebackers look for them to move with speed this year as they ushally do...

Trust me im used to winning as well, It was a weird feeling not planning at Texas stadium in 2004 and im sure it was even more disapointing in 2005. But this year should be a winning record, even 9-1 8-2 record for Coppell...COWBOY UP
MANDITORY PEP RALLY!! HAHAHA

The offense still needs work. Jesuit was batting down passes rather than blitzing and it was effective. The offense gained yards in big chunks instead of moving the chains - putting the defense on the field much more than expected. Two of the four top guys in the running back rotation were out. Coach didn't show most of the run package anyway. The defense did create 3 fumbles and 3 interceptions. We tried playing some backups at 34-7 and it backfired badly resulting in a closer than it really was finish.

We have a new Def coordinator this year and he brings a more aggressive style. While the secondary made the big plays, I would have to tell folks to watch the big soph DT as he was in the backfield disrupting plays constantly. That type of pressure is what leads to most interceptions.
