I was just wondering what everyone thought was the position or positions that need to come through for you this year. For us, it's gotta be our offensive line. We only have one returning from last year. The good thing about this is all of our recievers, our running back and quarterback are returning.

At Coppell its one of our 3 QBs we dont have a starter, also our reciving core, last years couldnt catch at all..and our offensive line, i think they will be revamped and ready to though

QB
I got faith in McElroy though. He will come up in the clutch situations.

For Abilene Cooper it is without question the O-line. We are loaded at RB, have a great QB and plenty of good WRs, but some poor play by some of the line last year really cost us. We only return one starter from last year's line, but all of the new guys look a lot bigger and stronger. I have been told that the line is greatly improved over what we had last year. Cooper is really gonna pound this ball this year behind that big line ("big" is a relative term. We arent Dallas Carter who are 320 all the way across, but we arent going to have the line with 3 guys under 200 pounds that we have had in the past) and we need guys who can open up holes.
More than anything, we need guys who are going to protect the QB better. We had a hard time last year giving our QB enough time to throw. So much so that the coaches actually went to a shotgun formation much like what Evangel Christian uses because the QB was an additional 2-3 yards behind where he would normally be in the shotgun just so he would have another second or so to throw.

Lufkin, and I promise not to talk smack if we beat y'all. *fingers crossed*
Nevermind....I'm already talking smack. LOL
Hope we both make it there.

O Line
An O Line that is average will result in a district championship and first round playoff exit.
An O Line that is a step above average will result in a semi appearance.
An O Line that is great will result in a state title.

Make or break point hmm...
Its gotta be our running game as a whole. Everyone saying we have the best running game in the state and we gotta prove it.

The trenches for leander, Oline and Dline. We have more skill guys back than we have ever had returning and an all district qb, but Jason wont be able to produce unless our offensive line steps up and makes holes for him, and our defensive line can create havoc in the backfield. I think our D line is fairly proven, but it is going to have to step up from last year, but our offensive line must at least hold off some people. This is the only part of our team that TRUELY makes me nervous, and thats not the best part of the team to be nervous about.
