REL'S CUBA OUT 3-4 WEEKS
I noticed REL junior safety Tekerrian Cuba on crutches during their morning workout on Friday.
Apparently, Cuba injured his knee while lifting weights and will have minor surgery on Monday...and will be out 2-4 weeks.
Cuba will most likely miss Lee's season-opener against Chaminade-Madonna, and possibly their second game at Waco High.
From all indications, junior Marcus Jackson will be moved from wide receiver to replace him for the time being.
Jackson is a very versatile player, he's also the Red Raiders backup quarterback.

I heard about his also. Sounds like he tore some cartiledge. Sounds like he will be back in a few weeks. Hopefully he can be 100% by early September. His defense will be missed in the Chaminade and Waco game. I think Marcus Jackson and Drew White (5-11/185) very athletic kid will be the FS for that period. I've heard from a couple of people that Drew White is an outstanding player that could also play LB.

I am sorry to hear this. I hope the young man recovers quickly. At a minimum, it looks like he probably would not be 100% for the Colerain game and quite possibly be unable to play. Though Colerain passes very little, I'm sure Cuba's speed and talent was going to be counted on to help contain Colerain's option game.
Speedy recovery.

He had an outstanding spring and could very well fill in at FS for Cuba. Great head on his shoulders and ex-QB!

Ya dad, from what I understand. It looks like Marcus Jackson and Drew white. I understand that Drew white is a pretty darn good player and was probably go see time on the field even if Cuba is there. I understand his a really scrappy player at about (5-11/185/4.6).
I think Cuba will probably make it back for the Colerain game. He might not be 100% but I'm sure if he can play he'll be there.
I'm hearing that the O-line is huge this season & the defense is pretty salty so far. I think this week in pads will really seperate some players and we'll see whose going to step up for the season in the Desoto scrimmage.
Desota has about 6 D-1A players on this seasons team and there O-line is like (6-4/290) with some athletic RB's and QB so it will be a good early test for REL to see how they look.
