A San Antonio school district wants its students to go to high school and college at the same time and earn credit for both.

The Early High School-College Program is a joint effort between the Judson School District and the Alamo Community College District.

Under the program, a new Judson High School would be built on the new Alamo Community College campus called Northeast Lakeview College.

Judson students would earn a high school diploma and an associate's degree in just five years.

Would all Judson students have to participate in that program? I would think they would make it optional.

Corpus Christi ISD has an optional program where students can get a HS diploma and associate's degree in four years, but you can't go to one of the traditional high schools to do it. They have a special "Collegiate High School" that doesn't have any interscholastic activities.

No, not all would. It isn't just for Judson students either, from what I hear. I think it will only hold about 600-1000 kids too.

dallas county community college has already started this. Its their first year in doing this and the highschool kids do joint classes starting their junior year and actually attend classes at the community colleges. Ive seen a bunch of them running around richland.

they are supposed to have both done by the end of their senior year which is pretty cool
