Has some 5A coverage, mainly Westlake. Not great, but there are some things to look at.

I bought the paper yesterday and checked it out. Couple things that bothered me.

Their stats and info were way off when it came to Desmond Jackson... they listed him at 5 interceptions with him returning 3 for touchdows. In reality, he had 6 interceptions and returned 5 for touchdowns and a punt. If they were off on his stats, I am sure they were off elsewhere. I just wish papers would put a little more into getting things right.

They, like the Express news, failed to give our defensive end Logan much earned respect. This is kind of going to be a rant because it is kind of annoying. He had 13.5 sacks last year and cant make the pre-season team? Meanwhile, Tyrell Higgins from Clemens is getting a lot of love from the papers yet he only had 5 sacks. Why? Because Tyrell is 6'4 260 and Logan is 6'0 215. Logan is, and always will be, the better HS player though. Just because you have D1 size doesn't make you a better HS football player. Out of our big 3 (Marcus, Desmond, and Logan) on defense, Logan gets shafted when it comes to recognition. I wish I knew why. That guy works the harder than anyone on the team and gets the least respect. It's pretty lame. Oh well, he has D1 offers to play linebacker and at the end of the day none of this will matter.

Westlake is pretty much the only team the Statesman put any effort into. Kind of disapointing.

I've said it before, but i've come to the conclusion that it is the Austin American statesmen, take it or leave it. Westlake is the only team in Austin to win a state championship, so anytime they feel like Westlake is worth a crap they will have them as not only the cover story, but the majority of the sports page.

Yea according to them Austin Westlake makes Austin a one horse town. Like we only have one school in 5A.

Southlake is not the only team around here to win a state championship and the sorry Ft Worth paper barely mentioned ET can you believe that???? HAKAAAAAAAAAAAAA!:D
