Overall, the Texas teams looked good, but don't expect to see South Grand Prairie playing in December.

is anyone surprised at where slc fell out in this list? i can think of a handful of other teams they could have tested and all would have finished ahead in these skills. also interestingly, the only one to break the streak, may not be one of them. these tests correlate better with true athletic ability than a coach timed 40 yd dash, but until football quits being a team game, i suspect you'll see "teams" like sgp finish early, and sv, kt, and slc stay late.

we have always been close but behind in the concensus opinion of our level of "athleticism". interestingly enough, our top rated athlete may not get much playing time as he will be the least experienced wr of the top 8. at least as the 8th rec on a 4 wo set, you are still second team.

dont pull that we dont have athletes crap up that thing...u know very well that ure team is full of them...Renfro,that McKay guy...just to name a few.

i'm sure you won't find me bemoaning our lack of athletes, but these numbers speak for themselves. i have argued myself cyanotic that slc athletes can stand toe to toe with any one for 3 years, but the line to back my convictions isn't much longer than the one trying to see milli vanilli's grammy. i can't argue with the stats however.

haha good comparison....i still think u guys will do good this year it just feels kinda cool to have one of the better rankings i guess...and one of our guys Hector Sobers is going to be doing a comercial for nike...kinda cool, considering judson doesnt normally have high profile athletes.

My first question is how many people compete to get the total team numbers? Getting a good score doesn't mean much, but it does when your team has good coaching. That looks good for SLC and Judson.

the article stated one team used 5 players to get their average. if all starters from the top 25 teams were to compete, it would be more interesting, and maybe as good if not better as a predictor of success than the 7on7 tourneys.

dragonsdaddy, i found that consensus VERY interesting, i wont sit here and say that SLC has the greatest athletes in the state, but they do have some good quality kids, i was very suprised to see the overall ranking that SLC had, but i htink it goes to show, just how good of a coach Dodge REALLY is, and how well HIS SYSTEM really works, dont get me wrong, Riley, McElroy, Jackobson, Renfro etc...are all bigtime players, but IMO Dodge gets the best out of them pure and simple....it gives me MORE reason to respect SLC and what they do year in and year out and proves the notion, that its about the TEAM, NOT THE ATHLETES...

Well, I think we can now conclude that these type of tests don't matter when you get between the lines.
