When are we going to see all these "nationally" ranked teams come to Texas and play our finest ? You know...SouthLake, Lufkin, NorthShore, Katy, SmithsonValley ...and thats just a handfull !!!!!! I'm tired of seeing these lame ESPN games featuring Popcorn Tech vs Cupcake High. I'm not impressed. A few years back it was all De La Salle...when we have a scoring Machine that would make Steve Spurrier cry, in SLC.

Now from what I understand De La Salle and Southlake are going to hook up. If so are they coming here ? Bet they've never seen a crowd like they'll see at Texas Stadium. Personally I'm waiting for Some to take on Katy and North Shore. Being a native Bostonian I'm a believer that High school football is n't played any better aywhere in the country. I think some states may have great individual talent ( see Alabama ) but as a whole, team wise , Texas is tops.

I'd love to see Katy play Hoover and De La Salle. I think we'd paste Hoover . I think we could play De La Salle. I also think they may give us a good game. Cali has some players. I know they had lots of speed. But we saw that here in the plays against Washington and Madison.

While I'm sure a De La Salle/SLC game would be good. I would have liked to have seen it when De La Salle still had their undefeated streak in tact. If I'm not mistaken since getting beat haven't they pretty much fallen off the map compared to where they were during the streak? I mean yeah they still get placed high in most rankings but I think a lot of that is off their tradition.

They could take the 4 leading sports publications and assign points to 1st through 10th standings and the 4 with the highest points play for 2 more weeks. Then you have a real national champion and these programs from other states who play no one will have to meet SLC and Lufkin on a Friday Night...:cool:

Money is being pumped in and everyone knows that money will do nothing but attract scheisters and ultimately taint what's pure and what we love about it... Now you're suggesting TV games, out-of-state games, etc. so you can be crow about Texas football while such things only mean less classroom time for the kids?

Since 90% of the high school student athletes WON'T have athletic careers past high school, why would we promote more extra-curriculars and less class time? People put too much stock in these interstate games...they prove absolutely nothing as far as what state plays better football, but yet people seem to cling to them as if they were definitive. I said that last year LONG before Trinity and Colerain played and I stick by it.

Put me down as one who would much rather see pre-district games like:
Southlake Carroll vs. North Shore
Lufkin vs. Garland
Katy vs. North Shore
North Shore vs. Lufkin
Katy vs. Austin Westlake
etc...

I think he is just saying what has been said many times.... how one of our best.. or a couple of our best should play some of the "supposed" great teams throughout the nation.... just to see how it plays out...

Hello...great comments..I've been at work. I think there are PLENTY of great teams in Texas. But I've played at the 6A level in the Mobile ,Ala area and 5A level here. I thought of this thread,because every time I visit my family in ALA it's Hoover this, Daphne that. They REALLY believe NO ONE can step on the field with the teams there.

The subject for the thread came from me just wondering as too playa said...how it would pan out.

NS vs anyone in the metroplex I'd lover to see..especially SLC. I think they could play with that wide-open attack. Talking Basketball scores there:eek:

Katy-Westlake. I always thought Katy would have given them a game..but Westlake always went Div-I if it weren't for the Alief schools we would have seen it.

WestLake-The Woodlands...is it me or do those two schools seem to be a who's who of former NFL or Longhorn players sons ? Westlake- Street,Campbell and a few others. Woodlands-Irons,Mock,Bierne..)Good bloodlines there. Side note..anyone know whatever happend to Christian Campbell, Earls oldest from the 2001 WL team ?
