How many of you know who the Prestonwood Lions are (without looking it up), and if you do, tell me how you think they would they fare against Southlake, Lufkin, etc.
(I'm not from Prestonwood and could care less, just be honest... I'm doing this for someone else to prove a point).
Also, please indicate whether you're from the D/FW area or not.

FYI - Prestonwood is a Texas school, not some out-of-state powerhouse you just haven't heard of.

I've got someone from out of state coming to play Prestonwood suggesting that they're one of the best teams in Texas. So, you guys be honest on how you think Prestonwood vs. SLC, Lufkin, GPNS, etc. would turn out.
FYI - Prestonwood is a Texas school, not some out-of-state powerhouse.
well, considering nobody talks about them, id imagine their not the best of schools..

IMO, no matter how good prestonwood is, they couldn't stand up to lufkin...and probably not to southlake either. but i'm no expert on prestonwood, i've never even heard of them. (can't be that good! :p ;) )
reppin southlake...

Isn't Prestonwood a private christian school located somewhere in North Dallas? I think it is in Plano, but everyplace up there sort of looks alike to me. In any event, unless they have developed a real sleeper program there in stealth mode, I don't think they would fare real well against the likes of Lufin, Carroll, or a good number of other UIL schools in football.

No way. Calpreps says they were #117 in Texas last year and would be a 38 point underdog to SLC and that was in an undefeated season.

If he wants ammo, he has to get it anyway he can. I can sit here and say SLC and Lufkin are better without looking, but I wanted to say how many other teams are better, too!:D

That's right! Don't look em up guys.
They're a Texas program. Just let me know if you've heard of them or not. If so, how you'd think they'd fare against the big boys.
No ammo needed Lonny. I'll link directly to the thread and show them how many have heard, or not heard, of the school.

I doubt if many on this board know much about them, myself included. Here's what I do know.........Prestonwood is indeed a private school. They compete TAPPS div-III and are the defending state champion in that class and were runner-up in 2004. That said, I don't believe they would do very well against the top UIL classifications, 5A & 4A.
I think an earlier post said they were rated #138 in TX. I would bet that's pretty close to right.......:D

I think Prestonwood is a private school around the DFW area. I know a kid who goes there. If Prestonwood played Carroll, Lufkin, Garland ect. they would get KILLLLEEEEDDDDDD!!!!!!!
SLC: 174
Prestonwood: -19

I do know that they are a private school in the North Dallas sprawl. I do know that they play the likes of Garland Christian Academy, also a small private school, that my granddaughter attends as a vigorous and extremly active K-5 student. I also know that I saw those players up close a number of times last year. They were so small, and, generally, so unathletic looking. GCA's varsity would have trouble not getting blown out by the Garland Owls 9th grade second and third string. Just a fact........period.
Prestonwood would have no chance against SLC's LAST string.

People that never play SLC always seem to think they can beat SLC. Whether its Longview, or some random school in Georgia, or 03 North Shore, or yada yada yada. To that I say, if you think you can schedule them. Evangel is this year.

Im in dfw. Prestonwood school is part of Prestonwood Baptist Church, a huge regional church in west Plano. No , they could not compete at the 4A or 5A level of the iul.

heard of the school. (vague) heard of the street. heard of the mall. that said, there are nearly 20 recognized texas polls and i've never seen prestonwood on any of them.
imo, prestonwood would forfeit at halftime, (with the score at 56-0) because they would feel it's unfare to have to play "college" teams like slc, lufkin, garland, north shore, judson, carter, etc...
schools like this are estatic to be able to play the game, let alone try and compete against any real talent. they love to look at themselves in the mirror, with those monsterous-oversized uniforms (stark clean, btw) and enormous helmets.
when i picture football players at a school like prestonwood, i think of the character "lucas", in the movie "lucas".

Rancher, the team they play on the 22nd, isn't the perrenial Texas State Champion I was thinking of. Matter of fact, I don't think that team has ever won a title.
Check Sept. 15th, on the schedule. If you know anything about "small" schools, in Texas, you'll recognize who I'm speaking of.;)

Btw, did anyone check out the link to the Shiloh squad? Did you have your speaker volume turned slightly up? Hilarious! (Odd that a Christian school would have that kind of music on their website.)

Prestonwood is the private school for the mega burb church prestonwood baptist that has over 30,000 members. The school is a powerhouse in tapps highest classicfication due to the money that the school has. They have a nice 3,000 seat stadium with artifical turf a state of art weight room and facilities. I saw my good friends son play in their youth football league at the complex its very nice. However they are on par with a good 2A school at best. Their competition is not up to where they are at. They did have a couple of D1 recruits. To bad they don't stay in the Plano system. If they played SLC or any other good 5A team it would not be pretty. They would get their butt handed to them.

Prestonwood now competes in division 2 which is equivalent to UIL 4A. Last year they won the Divison 3 state championship with DIvision 2 numbers. They did defeat the division 2 champ Arlington Grace Prep at home by 7 pts. Grace Prep had not playedin close to 2-3 weeks due to a schelduling conflict with I believe Hurricane Rita. Grace Prep was the better team, case in point was how Liberty Christian defeated Grace 35-7 in the final week of the season but lost to Grace 42-19 just 4 weeks later in the state championship. Prestonwood is a big private school and will become a private school powerhouse but could never compete with the elites of 3A let alone 5A. I played ball at Liberty from 97-99 we played Celina all three years and played them tough winning in 97 21-7, you all saw what happend to Celina when they went ot 3A. It would be unfair to even conisder a private school competing with the likes of a Carroll or Lufkin. ANother example was back in I believe 2002 Bishop Lynch won the TAPPS 5A state championship, that same year they lost to Highland Park 48-0 and HP did not win state. To be perfectly honest with whoever started this thread, PLano Prestonwood would not make the playoffs in ANY 5A district. Private school ball while being decent is no public school ball especially from the 3A-5A level.

Prestonwood is just around the corner from Hebron High school in plano/carrollton area. LOL...Southlake or Lufkin would have the cheerleaders in after the first quarter and I think the cheerleaders would give prestonwood a good game!!!!:D

Prestonwood is a Private school That is located near west Plano and is about 3 minutes from Hebron. Alot of my friends go to that church. The church is insanely huge with large crowds of people but a somewhat small school. If they played SLC or Lufkin they would get dismantled. Most 4a and 5a programs could probally beat them. I could probally name at least 50.
