I know this should be in the college football section, but I wanted everybody to see it.

Soph. Chase Daniel has officially emerged as Missouri's probable starting quarterback. Daniel, from SLC took the snaps for five series and completed 16 of 20 passes for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns at a scrimmage Monday. Coach Gary Pinkel says " Chase Daniel is clearly number one " Sounds like he is doing great things there! I hope he carries on a growing tradition of Texas bred QB's doing great things at the college level.

He'll be a very solid college QB. I can see him taking Missouri to a few Bowl games during his time there.

Some may not think so but I can of style Chase Daniel after Drew Brees. Both are a tad over 6 feet tall and have strong arms and have the knack of making plays on the fly. In fact Chase Daniel is probably a little better athlete overall than Brees.

That doesn't really surprise me. He looked like like a college QB when he played at Carroll.

The man is the truth. I didn't get to see him play live in high school(did see him on TV a couple of times) but last year in...the.... Independence Bowl against USC( South Carolina) he reignited Missouri when Brad Smith went out for a few plays. I think he sparked that whole combat with few completions. I think he bailed Missouri out of a few other game last year also. I expect nothing but good things from him this year.

He bailed Missouri out of a couple of games last season. I think it was the Iowa St game that I saw on FSN and he marched them down for what ended up being the game winning touchdown.

He also some action in a few other games and did well. Last seasons stats:

66 att - 38 comp -- 347 yds -- 1 td -- 2int.

Not bad for a true freshman QB that didnt even go through Spring football.

I still think it's funny how some people think the 2004 SLC offense wouldnt be able to move the football on their High school team. I find that just amazing.

QB- Chase Daniel - Mizzou
RB- A. Luna - Rice Baseball "Great athlete & strong".
Wr- M. Jacobson - BYU
Wr- C. Renfro - TCU
Ot- M. Prince - Mizzou
C - M. Enright - SMU

I know that I'm missing a couple of players also off that great High school offense. I still cant believe I heard some people claim, "They wouldnt move the football on our team." What a joke..

PS. The other great thing about Daniel. If the pass aint there,, that kid will bring it down and take off for a nice 15 yard gain. His another Steve Young in that area.
