My youngest daughter started kindergarten this morning and my oldest daughter started middle-school. I have a boy in first grade as well. I now have all my children on the road to leaving my house. 13 years and counting.:D

How exciting for your family. But, before you know it, they will be gone.

I do not blame you. 4 was not the plan trust me. We were going to have 1 more after my first, but twins and an accident later we have 4! The accident turned out to be a blessing though. You would never trade them in although some days I feel like doing just that. ;)

oh my parents just threaten me with that line from bill cosby "You know, I brought you in this world, and I can take you out. And it don't make no difference to me, I'll make another one look just like you."
And they are joking.. or so I think!

no children, and school is a beast right now. Can't imagine how much work you put into those kids, but I bet you get more out of it.

Oh I use that line too. Only I make them recite it to me. I say, "what is the rule?" and they both say, "you brought me into this world and you can take me out." LOL......and the best part is.... they really believe that.

Thanks...I don't need the dog though...already got a Yorkie and a Daschund. I'll be glad when I can move back to the country and get a real dog. The two I got now are worse than a couple of kids.

Well, good luck!! It only seems like yesterday that I was sending mine off for their first days of school and now my girls are starting their senior year and my son is in college. It went way faster than I thought it would. But there is a bright side. We are thinking about how it's going to be when they all are on their own - that future seems very fun and lighthearted. I see myself on a cruise of the Greek Isles or travelling Europe or Antiquing in New England - all without the cry of "ARE WE THERE YET" and at my own pace. I also see a new exercise room, library and plant room once I convert those bedrooms:) :) I'm kidding - I love my kids dearly but it is on to that next phase that has been a long time coming. Right about the time that cruise is set to go, one of mine will probably tell me I need to watch the grandkids or something - just my luck:rolleyes:

WOW! You've got this planned out pretty good. With three young kids, I'd settle for just making it through one meal without an argument breaking out  My wife is a stay at home Mom ( a real blessing) and I don't know how she does it. There are times when I'm happy to go to work just to get away from the children.

You should be ashamed of yourself... LOL....just kidding. I think that is very funny, true but funny. But knowing you, and the man you are...I am sure that you take over all three the moment you get home for the evening, do the bath thing, the bedtime stories, the dozen drinks and I'm hungries before bedtime and give your wife her much deserved break. :D

I do my part when I get home. We both do the homework chores then one of us gets everyone in and out of the tub and to bed while the other one does all the ironing. Whoever gets through first will make all the lunches...we have a system.

I just want you to remember something about your girls. No matter how much they push you away as they get older, or pull away from you....a girl will always need and want(even if she will not admit it) her daddy. (and of course I don't need to put the obviously disclaimer in here about the bad and abusive fathers...they don't count)
And this holds true, no matter how old they get. :)

That is so true Miss Kitty - I loved my daddy. He was one of my best friends and we were so much alike. We would sit there and watch those football games and scream at that TV like there was no tomorrow - if it wasn't sports, it was a horror flick. And he always took me to my grandfathers house when Wizard of Oz was on because PaPa had a color TV!!! He was one of very few who had one at the time. I have a picture of him and I and he is holding me in one arm and holding a can of Jax beer just as tight in the other.
One of my best memories of my dad was when the Beatles were on Ed Sullivan and my older sisters and I were watching it on a small black and white (the screen was like 10 inches diameter and the console took up half the room!!). Anyway, my sisters were screaming and falling all over the place and I went running to my dad and asked him what was wrong with them - he told me it was something to do with those guys and their long hair!! He thought they were such scrungy beasts...in 1964. He was a hoot and I miss him every time I think about him.

We've got 4 also - all boys though. Two are in college, one's a senior, and our baby is in 9th grade. Believe me, they grow up fast! The worst part of it is that we'll have 3 in college at the same time. There will be no trips to the Greek isles for us - at least not for several more years...
