The Lone Star Cup is awarded each year for overall achievment....check it out sometime...http://www.uil.utexas.edu/ath/lsstand.html
Carroll, The Woodlands, Kingwood, Westlake, are usually at the top in 5-A. Check it out badboy...Brownsville Rivera is in 9th place I believe...

Neither does Carroll..the only thing we "rassle" with is the school board...Carroll should be moving up in the standings...we just won the district golf tourney & our girls soccer team made it to the regional finals, we are in first in district in baseball and second in softball... :)

doubt we'll move up since the only school ahead is kingwood who also excelled in soccer and has dynamite golf and academic teams. the only way we can catch up is thru baseball/softball.

Copperas Cove just took the 13-5A golf championship by about 25 strokes. Golf District Champs two years in a row. We need to add that to the list.

The Allen girls and boys golf team also took District 8-5A Championships in the past days and it's a shame that they don't count Bowling because we had an individual State Champ and our girls team repeated as State Champs :D

All those schools are great schools ( SLC, Katy, Woodlands, Kingwood, Austin Westlake). Not only do they have great athletic programs but they have strong academic programs.
I wouldnt feel bad about sending my kid to anyone of those Great schools.
PS. I also think most of the kids that go to those schools are first class kids for the most part.

FYI, SLC does have a wrestling team and has had a grils and guys team for about 3 yrs. The girls won district this yr and sent one to the state tournament, she has gone 3 yrs in a row!

Well, I can't say much for the other years.....
But for 2004, Naaman Forest in Garland pretty much wrecked in their district. (used to be 12-5a now 11-5a)

cy falls won district with 6 different teams this year if i'm not mistaken and reached the third round of the playoffs with four of those teams so i guess their name sould be thrown into the hat w/ this convo.

Southlake might be the best but i think over the past couple of years Coppell has been one of the most constant. 5yr football play-off streak, Soccer 3 State Tourny bids in 4 yrs, Basketball play offs 6yrs girls basketball ditto, Vollyball playoffs 4yrs running. Cross Country State meets (as long as i can remember), Hockey state champions like 3yrs in a row (Excluding this year where they got knocked out in the round before state). 1 Softball State Championship, Baseball in a dominate force...all togeither Coppell has a consistant sports program, never the best, but allways up there competing

coppell is ready for this group of dragons to be dismissed as i think i heard that the football and baseball teams have never lost to the cowboys, from 7th on. that's not so much of a stretch since they have a fairly good record against everyone, but they have an extreme dislike in losing to the redmen.

We have done quite well this year in several areas! I'm hoping baseball will pull out of it's semi-slump for the rest of the games. It's been exciting being a part of the Golden Eagle family. Next year should be just as good if not better. It's the following year when the newest Cy school - Cypress Woods -opens that may be challenging. Our neighborhood will be redistricted to Cy-Fair after next year but my girls will graduate in 2007 so they will still go to Falls and graduate from there - can't think of any other school I would have wanted my kids in more than Falls. It's been a fun ride.

yea, it seems like the cy falls baseball team always finds a way to reach sucess. this year it looks like they have prime time players and have the players spread across varying grades ranging from sophmores to seniors so this sets us up to do very well for years to come

We beat southlake @ football three years ago...infact we are the only opposing team EVER to beat southlake @ Southlake...what a game it was in OT, and y'all didnt even put the score up on the board...but yes since then you have dominated us

The loss to Coppell was 4 years ago. (The last year that SLC was a 4A team) It was one of five losses, that year. It remains the only loss in new Dragon stadium. (christen that year) It was in overtime and came (largely) as the result of a "questionable spot" of a fourth down plunge, by Coppell, up the middle. (The “questionable spot” is a quote from DMN or the Ft. Worth paper, not me) The spot kept alive the drive and the Cowboys score the winning TD on the next play. An extra point attempt was not required (I believe the final was 16-19), so the game was over. I’m sure some one at Coppell, with Photoshop can fix you up with a “picture” of the score board with the final score.
