no doubt its daniel and luna, but i think mcelroy will fill that hole pretty good, newton and moorefield are playing running back arent they? i havent seen iether play so im not sure there, i think we will be great this year and should make a run at state

I think the loss of Mitch Enright on the O Line will prove to be huge as well. He was a 3 year starter for the Dragons as well. They may have a replacement but I'd bet the farm he won't completely fill those shoes.

Enright was a 4 year starter that set a Texas High School record for games played....

Now that is a crazy record that would be cool to bragg about. " I've played in more Tx Varsity games then anyone in Texas history." :)
Enright was a very solid "rock" in the SLC O-line. I'm sure he'll be missed some.

Hopefully a young Dragon is ready who has been waiting his turn....will the well run dry this year? I don't think so, but thats why they play the games.... ;) I'm sure the Dragon faithful would be honored to watch our green guys go at it with Abilene & Lufkin again! Great fans & great programs...

Abilene in the Regional Semis!Warbird, I think a yearly Thanksgiving weekend matchup with your Eagles would be a great tradition to get going. I'm all for doin' it again this year!!
I would obviously differ from your predicition, however. Good luck this season!! :)

Just throwing this out there, slc's oline is all seniors this year.

The o-line losses of Enright and Stacy combined with the giant hole left by Luna will be the key. Once Buford returns the line should shore up some. I think the combo of Morefield and Newton will be ok. As i've said on other posts, look for Morefield to get more playing time if Newton hasn't mastered how to block and catch. In our offense, a RB better be able to do those things first over running as they just don't get many carries a game.

yeah i heard moorefield is most likely going to start and then newton will come in basically on running plays. mcelroy doesn't really need protection (he is already the best) but it will be nice if moorfield steps up and has a good year,

how, pray tell, will mc do throwing while running for his life or with a lb's helmet empaled into his rib cage? trust me, protection is what he needs more than anything else out of his rb partner. even with superior mobility, when daniel was poorly protected(rarely), his efficiency suffered. even the most ardent slc apologist doesn't believe protection isn't foremost. i know for a fact dodge doesn't.

Every QB to ever play the game, except for maybe Ryan Leaf, would disagree with that kind of statement.

The key losses were at O line... Enright and Stacey
Our o line may be all seniors, but that doesn't mean anything if they don't stand up to the job. I've heard people say they're a little small. We'll see.
As for Buford, I think he'll return after four games.

I think Buford got his "suspension" reduced. I think he will only miss 2 games now.
