I saw this list at a local trophy shop in Lufkin -- and thought it would be fun to create our own list for all our various communities:

Top Ten signs you're a Crazed Lufkin Fan:

1) You put on a Lufkin Panther t-shirt any time you drive to Nacogdoches.

Yep. Whenever we travel and go through some town, I always challenge my wife and son to "name that mascot". As if they would know.

Here's another. Whenever someone asks how large a town is and you reply with their classification.

Wow, I've done that so many times it's not even funny. Everytime I go somewhere...I make an attempt to look at the local football stadiums. Went up to Kentucky this past week, and pretty much first thing I did was find the local high school football stadiums.

When somebody asks you "How's it going?" and you start giving them all the stats of your high-school's football team.

If you always stop at least once while driving through Longview in hopes of finding that Strong Safety who hit you with that crack-back block in 9th grade.

If you still sing "Flush That John" every time you drive by JT in Tyler.

When I was a kid, the Baptist churches would let out at noon to make sure everybody got back home for the Cowboys game. Now, they've gotten smarter and start earlier so you can be home at noon.

Quite a few churches have started doing like that Baptist church in Houston that got a bum steer one year from Texas Monthly for holding church during halftime of the Super Bowl. I missed my chance to see a whole church melt down. I was watching the 2005 Super Bowl at church and the pastor had the guys running the projector cut away during commercials after the first beer commercial came on. Imagine if they had shown Janet Jackson during halftime!:p

My better half went to swap day last year - it was kind of a joke - there was nothing to swap - everyone was holding tickets tightly. We didn't bother this year - we'll keep our 5 and be happy.

2) I keep my green and gold pom pom's in a safe place (only used at playoffs though)
3) My calendar is kept with regard to game days
4) My family knows that I will be at a stadium at least once a week alone or with them (if they so choose).
5) I start humming the fight song in the car while driving
6) I start singing the school song when least expected
7) How many parents even KNOW the words to the school song!
8) I feel a certain change in the atmosphere - a positive energy
9) The high school becomes my focal point - probably not after my girls graduate but starting tomorrow it once again becomes a BIG part of life.
10) And the #10 reason is that I have been organizing the wardrobe from #1 like I am nesting or something!!!!

:) You just ROCK!:)

Why do people have to have season tickets? I never got that? I am just happy being there. If I have to have the $2 student general admission ticket then I am happy! :p

LPMOM, I definately wont have perfect attendence for this reason. If they don't let us out early for The Woodlands game, they better not expect to see me after noon.:D

something tells me that they will let school out early when we play the woodlands. since the football team, student trainers, cheerleaders, cheer managers, drill team, drill team managers, spirit team, and the band will be leaving probably around 1 or a little there after. so, something tells me school will probably be let out at 1 that day. but, who knows i could be completely wrong. lol

You have to be crazed when you plan the next 5 months by week. I told the Commander where I'll be each week. I made sure I volunteered for a bunch of stuff next week so I won't have to do anything during football season!:D
I had a friend who planned his wedding around the division I title game. The year we did not make the playoffs. To this day I do not think his wife knows.
