That is really sad and I would honor them so much.

Wow! How sad. But such an honorable outlook by the family.

This is indeed a tragic story. Both men are graduates of Lubbock Estacado. A scholarship has been setup in honor of Jose Velez. Articles about his service to our nation and his football jersey are displayed in the hallway, to let the students know about his brave service. The principal has stated that Andrew Velez will be honored as well (he hasn't decided yet how).
After the death of his brother, Jose Velez, Andrew was asked if he wished to stay in Afghanistan. He insisted on staying. The pain and suffering that the Velez family is going through is just unfathomable. My prayers are with the family during this most difficult time.
God bless these young heroes from Lubbock.

The youngest one could've gotten out under the rules as his parents sole living survivor. I feel bad for the parents, but applaud their attitude in time of grief. The people that protest our soldiers, sailors, marines, and Airmen dying in war have forgotten that we CHOOSE to take the risk and usually have the support of our families, too.
