The option is poetry in motion.

The kid's got talent. What colleges run the option these days? What are his college prospects?

He's given a solid verbal to Baylor.

He's given a solid verbal to Baylor.

Do they have him penciled in as a QB or did they take him as an Athlete?

Hmmm... Two different style qb's; Kinne and Johnson.

I believe Baylor is taking Johnson as an athlete. He's 6'1, 210 with 4.5 speed. Perfect size for an RB or DB.

My goodness! That is some of the most beautifully executed offense I have ever seen! That QB is brilliant!
I've always loved the option
There are 2 caveats:
1. you need a special QB to run it
2. Prepare for the demoralization and game momentum change when the pitch out is intercepted, and run back for a TD.

It's downloading, but a quick warning.. it's about 140 MB!.. have a good feeling it's worth it though

It's a 10-15 minute video. Thanks Owl. Forgot to put that in my original post.

bsides the God-awful tackling, for which johnson is most to be creditted with causing, i remember why the option is so hard to defense in high school. there were so many broken assignments where defenders ran themselves out of plays. he is definitely a good one.

GREAT video to watch. I found myself saying "OH WOW" or "DANG.. He's white too!"

Crazy, so much talent there.

watching these hilights reminds me why i hate soccer. the plethora of lines, esp near the goal lines gave me serious tired head and vertigo.

I'm not trying to hijack the thread but.....
hes what we in the black community like to call a yellow bone lol. Not white. Still a very impressive video though. I think he will end up playing saftey at Baylor.

His mom's white.

He's definitely a great athelete but you might want give his line a little credit. They created some pretty big creases for him to run thru. What I like most about him is once he's in the defensive backfield, he's still knows where his pitch man is. And his pitch man right is usually right there with him. I've gotten to see this kid the last two seasons and it's been a fun ride.
Just wish he could throw the ball.

By the way he won't play QB in college. I'm thinking they'll move him to DB. He's got a LB's attitude though. I'd love to see him at RB.

he is slow he needs to get faster

Tyler Lee played Berkner in 2004 playoffs and I think that was Justin's first year at QB...he has improved 100% since that game...the option was not working that day...total yards was 30 something...but after watching that video I see it can work...and it can keep a defense confused when run properly...he looks like a very good QB.

he is a very good player, here are the highlights we did on him

08-16-2006, 01:35 AM
Good athleticism, good speed, and most importantly, good brain. He can find those holes like its nobody's business.

Definitely a throw back to the old days in Texas high school football. Speaking from seeing this kid develop from his sophomore year to present, he has spent a lot of time getting this offense down. But he has had the luxary of running behind some pretty good O-lines along the way. It's a shame he probably won't even play on the offensive side of the ball at Baylor.

Just wish he would mouth off at the refs less and focus on leading his team more. Only complaint I have about him. Great athlete.

What difference does someone's race have to do with ability? Why is it surprising if a white kid does something spectacular. Great players are great players because of who they are, not the color of their skin and the mere mention of phrases like "and he's white" is just disgusting. Have we learned nothing? People are people and athletes are athletes.

I think that if option qb's learned to toss the ball rugby style on the lateral, it would be a much easier ball to handle.

Not even Carter and their smash mouth defense could stop Justin today. How is Klein Oak's rush D?
