actually A&M Consolidated is gonna be one of the top teams in the state next year and if they wanted to win a title now would be the time to make move. Woodlands is no slouch though, should be a good game.

Woodz will "screw the pooch" on this one vs a team with equal or greater talent. It's true that they have quite a few starters coming back, however they have NO Offensive Line and a very weak and slow QB......the receivers are marginal at best and their saving grace may be the transfer from Cornrow RB Milo, who played JV due to district transfer eligibility issues.

On "D" the safeties are very good.....corners so-so.....linebackers ok and the "D" line weak.......defense will be good vs. run....weak vs. pass.

Woodz will make the playoffs in '06 whooping up on the district pansies and once again choke vs teams that are coached. Be interesting to see after this next year the impact of College Park on TWHS and it's program.

i played strong safety and yes next year is going to be hard for our defense because they are having to replace a lot of kids but dont count them out. I had a class that went from a 5-5 freshman season and no one thought we would end up where we did. i guess we are just going to have to see how things end up come game day ill let the boys in blue talk for me from now on.

I'm not one to be any kind of police or anything but this thread is killing me. All i've seen from this thread is newbies that either can't spell or can't spell check, and haven't looked over their post before pressing submit. If any team honestly had 13 returning starters on defense then yeah they better be the favorite lol.

And i dont know much about this game, but i've learned over the years to just never count out SV. Every year come playoff time minus of course the year yall lost to North Shore, The Woodz have always seemed like under achievers and SV has always seemd like over achievers. Just my humble opinion.

I watched the Katy vs SMV playoff game and the SMV QB looked like he was under sized and missed a lot of passes.
Their OL was mostly seniors? I think SMV had a good D that kept it close.

The TWHS returning team is going to suprises a lot of people next year. There defense shut down Katy running attack (held them to 122 on 38 carries), it was the offensive turnovers hurt them in the Lufkin game, and they held North Shore to one score and that hadn't happen since 1998! The defense has 7 all district players returning and their safties are fast, strong, smart and tough.

THWS is loaded at WR. The QB got a lot of playing time his JR year he's 6' 4" 215 and he's a leader on the field.
The OL will be very strong. The TE is D1 6'6" 225 with good hands...and they have a JR, RB 6' 205 quik as a cat and runs with power.

To me SMV is a well coached team and will be competitive, but this TWHS team is committed and has good team chemistry. They will be one of the best in the state next year.

The 12th man!There might be 10,000 fans from both schools in week 0!I could be wrong.But 5k per is a good following in week 0.Now there will be fans from other schools there also,that could push the total to 15-18k (Maybe!) but we`ll see.

The bottom line is the TWHS had a good defense last year and had an outstanding run defense...Lufkin 34-63, Klein Collins 44-150, (Goodsen had 80 yards) North Shore 44-173 and Katy 38-128, all had outstanding running attacks. This D reminds me of the great defense from North Shore in 03.


TWHS problem last year was on offense with very inconsistant play. The O play should be better this year. Better, QB play from Parsons, he is tall, strong arm and a leader and got a lot of snaps last season, WR especially Grote 6'1" 4.5 great hands and Mckee 6'6" 220 will be hugh targets. (they also have some very fast and talented WR coming up from the JV)

The OL will the best in several years anchored by Castillo returning. The RB's will untested, but we have a JR RB 6' 205 that can run inside and toughness.

Everybody talks about sub varsity performance. this group of seniors had 1 sub varsity lost in their entire career.
That includes wins over Lufkin, North Shore, Katy and the like.

These guys have played well as a team, they work hard and they have a strong work ethic...and they're smart and guess what they hit HARD!

people like to drop the names of their players as if we are supposed to know who they are before they play a single down of football. There are a few kids that get recruited early on and their names are in the newspaper, probably 4-5 a year that people that do not live in that town know about. Other than them, the casual fan does not know the starting lineup of every team in Texas and who the best players on those teams are. People that know their team's starting lineup post them and feel as if we should all be afraid of the kids that are listed. I for one am not impressed by this tactic.

Also to the person that said that this Woodlands defense is as good as 2003 North Shore needs to go back and watch how good that defense was. There is no way that 2006 Woodlands comes close to as good as that North Shore team.

Offense - Everyone minus a couple Lineman and the RB. We have a good RB coming up to play so I am not worried about that.

Defense - Everyone minus a couple D-Lineman. Secondary will be one of the best we have ever had.

Questions in my eyes: The QB, he had some good plays last year but I remember more bad ones. He needs to get better or this year will mean nothing, again. He has 1 year under his belt and he is 6'5 so I expect the coaches to work with him this offseason. Also, we need better play calling! Our Offense is WAY to obvious. We need to dump the ball off to our 6'6 TE more often. Not sure why we don't do that? Maybe this year, Huh coach?


We need to get better on Offense. We held Shore to 7 points last year but only got 6 points of Offense. NOT GOOD!

The only game we looked bad on Defense was the A&M game. They ran all over us but we had 2 All Districts on Defense not playing. Not taking anything away from A&M but I think it would have been closer.

All I'm saying is that SV proves year in and year out that they can win the big games against any team in the state, except SLC. While it seems that while "The" Woodlands of Conroe ISD can tear apart the schools of Montgomery county. Once they get into the playoffs or teams of higher calliber, they fizzle out. Heck, even Donna hasn't won since the 60's and yes it was in a different classification, but they still won. Until you win the big one, people will view you as Buffalo (4 times in a row to the super bowl without winning it). But at least you still made it there compare to many others. I would say it`s a bit early to call this one.SV lost most of their starters,and we dont even know how hill and the gang will sort out the new team yet.

I'd say that he will reload the gun and be ready come playoff time once again. It's only a matter of time before he gets enough talent on both sides of the ball in the same year and the trophy will be brought back to SV. SV's program is deep enough now that he could lose 22 starters to graduation and SV would still be one of the best teams in the state by week 11!

Let's see there is no indoor facility but there is a lighted and turfed practice field, Televisions and leather bench seats a locker room, which by the way has six air conditioning units. I guess its money well spent.

"teh" woodlands will not be as deep now because of college park,they dont have a rb, their qb has potential but hasnt found it yet, the only solid point for them this year is their unbelievable defense (secondary mostly) conroe was in the game last year until midway through the third quarter. since then "teh" woodlands has not improved and conroe has definately gotten better...

Should be a good one, but SV has dealt with talent at RB many times, and they seem to find a way to get past tough defenses. SV has a nice O line this year, young but big.

Yes they will.. i believe thier defense will keep them in the tough games...it looks to be extremely stout.... Woodlands is a good program... they have had a good run the last couple of years... i think thier big question will be offense...the defense cant do it all.. the defense is good but the offense will have to score points in order to take some pressure off the defense every now and then..... but i think this will be a good game... the winner will definitely be in the drivers seat with plenty of confidence to go toward the rest of the season.... should be a good one..... NS will have to face this woodlands team as well.... so we will be keeping a close eye on the outcome of this matchup.... good luck to both teams though..... :eek:
