I have some trivia questions for the board. All the answers are for current 5A teams, but they didn't have to spend all of the last 10 years in 5A. There will be surprises and none of the questions are scripted to make a point. The answers do show excellence, though. Answer one or answer all, but step right up and throw your hat in the ring!

What team has the longest drought since the last time they made the playoffs?

What two coaches are tied for the best winning % at their current school?

Which team has never missed the playoffs?

Which 5 districts have had every team make the playoffs this decade?

Who are the 13 teams who've made the playoffs the most times since there is a 4-way tie for 10th Place?

Who are the 6 teams who've made the playoffs the last 10 years? One of the teams is 56-55 in that time!

What is the only district that has had 4 teams lose less than 40 games in the last 10 years?

Which team has the most wins in the last 10 years?

Who are the 6 teams that have won 100 or more games in the last 10 years?

Which team has the fewest losses in the last 10 years?

What region has the most teams to lose less than 40 games in the last 10 years?

Which district has had 2 teams win over 100 games in the last 10 years?

Which 9 teams have won more than 90 games and lost less than 30 in the last 10 years?

That's the beauty of my questions because I knew that was the first thing somebody would think. I'm not going to do something that easy! The answers come from all over Texas.

Some questions are open-ended. SLC has never missed the 5A playoffs - going back all of four years.

There's nothing open-ended. All questions are as stated. Some are in 10 year increments and if you played in another classification, that counts for the question.

The question you are referring to was which team that plays in 5A right now has never missed the playoffs. I didn't say miss the playoffs in 5A.

The questions about losses in the last 10 years are with the caveat that the team actually played all 10 of the last 10 years.

SLC's record from 94-04 is 102-24, so that answers 2 of those questions for sure. Am I right on any of the other two?

Which 5 districts have had every team make the playoffs this decade?

I know Grand Prairie ruins it for 6-5A.

Decade Playoff Apperances:

2004 - Trinity, Irving, Irving MacArthur
2003 - Coppell, South Grand Prairie, Irving, Irving MacArthur, Trinity
2002 - LD Bell, Irving Nimitz, Trinity, Coppell, Irving, Irving MacArthur
2001 - LD Bell, Trinity, Coppell
2000 - Trinity, Coppell, South Grand Prairie

The Irving schools were all a joke until 2002

I was counting 95-04 (10 years) and you are partially correct on 2 questions. You don't have the right record, though.

You are correct because you have a school that didn't make it in the 90's either!

Alright so from 95-04 SLC's record is 96-19, which answers "Which 9 teams have won more than 90 games and lost less than 30 in the last 10 years?"

That means we dont have the most wins bc someone has won more than 100. That leaves, "Which team has the fewest losses in the last 10 years?"

Am I correct now?

No, you're not. You're half right on your latest effort.

Guys, I don't expect you to answer all the questions and just take a stab here and there. I know it's a lot for one person to answer. I'll edit the post and take away questions as we get them correct.

You're right on Katy and 26-5A. The five teams you listed for 100 wins are also correct.

Katy 122
Westlake 115
SV 110
Judson 105
North Shore 100

and 1 more team?

OK, I'm ending the trivia due to lack of interest or difficulty level. Here are the answers:

Lubbock has the longest playoff drought and hasn't made them since 1975.

These districts have had every team make the playoffs this decade: 5, 21, 25, 28, and 32. The added parity in Region 4 shows a lack of dominant programs.

26-5A gets the award for most depth. It's the only district with 2 teams that have won 100 games (Smithson Valley and Converse Judson) in the last decade and 4 teams (San Antonio Roosevelt 85-31 and San Antonio Madison 81-36) that have lost less than 40 games in the last 10 years.

Most Playoff appearances and last 10 years record:

Amarillo 44 (71-42-1)
Plano 41 (57-52)
Temple 36 (53-56)
Allen 30 (75-42-1)
Longview 30 (79-38)
Baytown Lee 29 (77-37)
Houston Lamar 28 (88-31-1)
Harlingen 28 (79-36)
Dallas Carter 28
Garland 27 (88-30)
Aldine 27 (68-32)
Converse Judson 27
Lewisville 27 (78-35-1)

The 2 coaches with the best winning % at their current schools are Joey Florence at Denton Ryan and Allen Wilson at Carter with 89%.

Fort Bend Hightower has never missed the playoffs in their 5 years of football.

Your best records over the last 10 years are:

Katy 122-21 (Most wins)
Austin Westlake 115-19-1 (Fewest losses)
Smithson Valley 110-25
Converse Judson 105-23
Southlake Carroll 104-29-1
Galena Park North Shore 100-23
Schertz Clemens 97-24
Midland Lee 96-27-1
Aldine Eisenhower 96-29-1

These teams have made the playoffs for the last 10 years:

Katy
Austin Westlake
Galena Park North Shore
The Woodlands 90-34
Dallas Carter 85-26
Last, but not least Dallas Skyline 56-55 and ten straight playoffs!

These teams have lost less than 40 games over the last 10 years, but didn't make the cut for any of the questions:

Lufkin 95-30-1
Arlington Lamar 93-30-1
Duncanville 88-29-1
Houston Madison 87-33
El Paso Franklin 84-29
Laredo Nixon 84-33
Euless Trinity 83-33
Abilene Cooper 82-38-1
Humble 80-36-2
Grapevine 80-38
Hays Consolidated 79-36
Copperas Cove 78-33
North Mesquite 78-36
Plano East 78-38
Brownsville Rivera 76-34
Pflugerville 71-35-3
Strake Jesuit 70-33
Los Fresnos 69-36
LaJoya 69-38-1
Pharr San Juan Alamo North 68-39
