Fortunately, I never got suckered into buying any of those. Some of those early games were dogs! And some of the simple ones were the best like Centipede, Space Invaders, Asteroids, ect.

when I was at UT (and I'm dating myself here) they brought in a Space Invaders game to the Blimpie's that was on the Drag near Goodall Wooten dorm - the line to get in to play that game went outside and down the sidewalk. I think they made more on that game then they did on their nasty sandwiches.

Then they brought in Pac Man I think it was and it got even longer - those were like the only two video games in Austin at the time I'm pretty sure. After that, the video game world exploded. My favorite was Robotron - I could beat ANYONE in that. Second was Space Invaders. Now my son has this whole big set up with all these systems and these very realistic games - that wouldn't be any fun for me - I've tried them and I don't like to play those. He still can't believe that I hung out in video game arcades in the early 80's. I was HOOKED.

Anyone remember a game on the Sega Genesis called 'Altered Beast'? One of my favorite games of all time!

My favorite Sega Genisis game was Virtual Bart, that game was so hard but so fun. When my friends and I were playing the tomato throwing level and we advanced to the egg throwing level, we freaked out and ended up losing because we spent to much time yelling "Are those Eggs!?, Where are the Tomatos? Oh My God we advanced, WE HAVE EGGS!!!", I don't think we ever made it back to the egg level.

Ok, now let me take y'all back to the original Nintendo. Any of y'all remember the VERY FIRST Tecmo Bowl? That's the one that only had like half of the teams on there. Danny White was qb for the Cowboys, Jay Schroeder was qb for the Raiders, Jim Mc Mahon was qb for the Bears and Sweetness was the running back. Now anytime Sweetness is on a video game, it's gotta be old school.
