[B]i noticed there are only 3 houston area teams in the top 25...
is houston high school football really that weak compaired to
other regions or are there teams being overlooked...
i think klein collins should be ranked and baytown lee as well....

Why should Baytown Lee be ranked? Because they won 7on7? I sure hope that's not your reasoning. B Lee will not be a state top 25 team this year unless you know something most don't.

And yes, even as a Houston area supporter, our teams suck and are far inferior compared to Region 1 and 2

What teams are ranked 1, 2, and 3 in the Houston area....I bet Lufkin is number one if not, they are in the top three...this goes right back to what I said about the best team in the Houston area, when others said Lufkin is not a Houston area team...Like I stated, you place Lufkin in the Houston area during playoffs and they crush Katy and SV...East Texas is where they are located, Houston is where they play the regular season and compile their ratings, yet they play the post season in the Dallas area...UIL is joke to me, get it right...

The numbers get in the way of Houston. They have 9 districts when you add in the Triangle teams and Lufkin. One district has to be in Region 2 and that's Lufkin's district. You can't get all of Dallas in one region, either. The only change you could possibly make is to have all the Houston teams in Region 3 and 4 instead of 2 and 3.

Saying Lufkin is Houston really takes away from the fact that they're a displaced East Texas team.

The UIL should maintain more consistency in their districting. They change directions too much. District 3 should be 2 and 2 should be 3. 4 through 11 are OK, but we get more questions after that.

They change directions too much with ET in 12 with Dallas, Central Texas in 13, North Houston in 14, and back to Austin for 15 and 16, to finally get back to Houston for 17-24. 25-27 have a few oddities, but I know they want to keep the big ISD's in SA together. I can't complain about 28-32.

myround you have to stop it!! you are embarrassing the lp faithful with some of your comments on a team like katy. again i agree, lufkin is not a houston team!! katy has been one of the most dominant 5a programs ever. i know lufkin blew out katy in 2 games during the regular season but the pack cannot hold their jock when it comes to state championships and that is where it matters most. do not forget katy won the 2003 championship over slc. so what that lufkin beat them the first game of the year in 2002 and especially 2003. yes we can say we were the only team to beat katy that year but so what if you think about it?? i would have traded that win for a state championship any day and i know outlaw would have also.

Thanks pack and no offense taken from myround. Everyone LOVES their team!
I'm going to try and see you guys when LP travels down here to play Klein. Katy plays that day also but the games are at different times and I might be able to make both of them. If I go I plan on sitting on ya'lls (how's that for east Texan!?) side.

What gets me is MyRound is from Wichita Falls. I asked him if he works on Sheppard, but he didn't answer me yet. One of the guys at work said another guy comes on the forum, so I thought he may be the one.

If Baytown Lee is better than the Titans the world is gonna come to an end the night we blow them out of Texas. :D

IMO...a few Houston teams will sneak up on people. Once Houston teams get out of Houstnn..I actually like their chances. I also think a LOT of things would have changed if Westfield had their two headed monster in the backfield in the title game...and if Katy would have gotten by Clear Lake. I really dont buy into the preseason polls...when its all said and done..only one team from each region will have a chance at the big game.

I'm gonna have to sit down and look at each district to get a GOOD idea. I expect the usual faces with a couple of suprise teams...kinda like Clear Lake and Westfield were suprises last year.
