I came in here very close to the beginning. Some of the originals were bullrock, lp mom etc etc Of course I came in like many young posters do. Talking crap! That is what the rest of the sites were like so I did not know any better. I found out this board was a lot different and they held their posters to higher standards. Then I fell in love with the board. Has changed a lot since 2001 but it still is the best site and forum IMO. I miss my boy and childhood friend wide in here, but I have no choice but to go on. I still talk to him on the phone when I get the chance. He came over not too long ago after he came in from Waco for the weekend.

When was the Hall first made? I dont really remember if it was on the original EZboard. But I know when I first started posting here, you werent in the Hall just yet :p. Of course that was a LONG time ago...

Past 3 seasons i've been to 39 games. 29-10. I attended every game in 94, 95, and 96. I have been to every Judson state championship game since 1993. I know Judson stats pretty well, and I don't mind looking up stats about other teams. I even compile information into stats. Once again tho, I do not feel I deserve HOF status. I do not post enough in the Main Statewide board right now. During football season I did, and the upcoming season I will also, but right now I don't.

34 games, last two full seasons and playoffs plus a couple of other games from 2003. 12? playoff games, and during the season i hope to provide some knowledgeable material. i actually have my own site up, its pretty crappy, but i have pics and stats ready for the next season.

I have been going to Judson's games since I was 5. I don't remember what the won loss record was but I know that they had a lot of each and I witnessed I think 4 Judson state championship games 2 wins(95, 02) and 2 losses(98,05). I have been a Rocket fan ever since.

Spring Branch games - 100's - from 1964 to 1985 (went to 60 in a row from 73-79 and got to be in the pre-game locker room and on the sidelines for the very last game ever played - it was awesome from what I could see through the tears)! At Stratford, I attended about 60 games over a 20 year space (wasn't a huge fan, just the wife of a staffer and was too busy having kids)-didn't miss a game in 1987 though, including the state game. As far as Cy Falls - I have been to 52 games in 5 years, including playoffs (only 2 of those years involved playoffs).

On a side note, I was the best QB in the neighborhood (thought I was Tarkenton) until my dad told me I was too old to be playing football with the boys:( Funny thing was, I ended up dating a couple of those former teammates:) :) How many of you guys can say THAT:eek:

Wide was 3 hundred something posts away from 5000 and Champ told him he would get in at 5000. The 3 Gretzkys..... thread was simple addition of 99 + 99 + 99 and whoever else was in the thread title to start with. With each post the overall jersey numbers went down 1.

If you have facts about the games or teams and you continue to post stories or info that are accurate and people want to read then you should be able to be nominated. I'm new to the site but there are plenty of posters with community vet status and with high post(in the thousands) that have nothing to say or spend 75% of there time hijacking threads or fighting with another poster just to get their count higher. Heck, I check in on Miss Kitty's thread's all the time because I know what she has to say is worth reading. If you want my vote she should get in now.

What it takes to get into the hall, IMO

1.knowlege, not just obvious stuff like rules, and rankings, but history, some stats, famous players etc. Knowlege not just of your school but also of fellow rivals and district opponents, and some of the obvious big names in TX like Permian, Southlake, Katy, etc..

2. Attendance, you have to go to at least some games in order to get into the hall

3. Quality of posts, are you contributing to the conversation, adding your opinion as well as thought provoking points etc. or are you just saying "I agree", "Totally", or my personal favorite "lol" all the time.

Post count and length of time on the board should have no bearing. If you have 50,000 posts and your not contributing to anything you shoudlnt be in the hall, if you've been here since the original board but you only have a handful of posts and they dont mean much, you shouldnt be in the hall, also it shouldnt matter what section your posting in as long as your posting good, you shoudlnt have to be posting frequently in the statewide board just to get in. I dont know if farmerfan is in the hall or not butr if he isnt he should be based on his vast knowlege and good posts in the baseball section

1.Every game since freshman year except for the Creek game my sophomore year because I was more flu than man (read about it first thing the next morning, i still remember that painful walk to the newspaper).

2. Every playoff game including North Shores and Bobby Reids 52-0 shalaking of our exact same semi final team in 04 when they were all juniors. Plus every one of the state semi final run playoff games. Also founded the Clear Lake BBQ club in 05 which tailgates before every football game, including the 06 season (went to every terrible game, that has to earn me some credit:p )

3. I did my ISM project in sports jounralism with one of the big wigs at the Houston Chronicle (why he decided to take me on as my mentor I have no clue). Anyways my final project was a 12 page newspaper covering the entire 06 (the bad one) season. In the process of making that thing I learned the history of my schools football program as well as a good deal of the rest of our districts schools histories; I also learned about every stat, player, and game score from 2000 onward. I try to be humble usually but I really cant help but boast and be proud of that newspaper I made. If any one read the 24-5A predictions thread I started at the end of the season, that was one of the pages in the paper.

I dont know why I'm answering these questions, theres about 834729 more qualified people for the hall than me...

What it takes to get into the hall, IMO

1.knowlege, not just obvious stuff like rules, and rankings, but history, some stats, famous players etc. Knowlege not just of your school but also of fellow rivals and district opponents, and some of the obvious big names in TX like Permian, Southlake, Katy, etc..

2. Attendance, you have to go to at least some games in order to get into the hall

3. Quality of posts, are you contributing to the conversation, adding your opinion as well as thought provoking points etc. or are you just saying "I agree", "Totally", or my personal favorite "lol" all the time.

Post count and length of time on the board should have no bearing. If you have 50,000 posts and your not contributing to anything you shoudlnt be in the hall, if you've been here since the original board but you only have a handful of posts and they dont mean much, you shouldnt be in the hall, also it shouldnt matter what section your posting in as long as your posting good, you shoudlnt have to be posting frequently in the statewide board just to get in. I dont know if farmerfan is in the hall or not butr if he isnt he should be based on his vast knowlege and good posts in the baseball section
You make good points. They are valid for what a Hall of Famer should be. I still think future Hall of Famers should be in the ballpark of the contributions of current Hall of Famers. Some of my thoughts are:

1. You can't just be a trivia guy, although that's impressive.

2. A good portion of your posts have to come from original thought and not just pasting something you heard elsewhere.

3. Stats are nice, but you need to be able to provide analysis for what the stats mean to your argument.

4. Posting like a madman shouldn't get you in the Hall of Fame. Now saying that, I did think D08 deserved it at 10K just because of the sheer amount of posts in a short time. There is a lot to be said about recognizing his efforts. Future Hall of Fame wannabes should post at a level that surpasses D08 if they want to be a Hall of Famer without 5-star posts on a consistent basis.

5. For me, a Hall of Famer has to have a presence on the board. You have to be a regular poster to get that status.

6. The Hall of Fame is hard to attain and that's why there are more deserving people who are already in the Hall of Fame than there are deserving people who aren't in the Hall of Fame.

7. A good grasp on history of the sports you talk about goes a long ways towards being a Hall of Famer. If you know a thing or two about history, it gives you a better perspective to analyze the current situation.

Farmerfan is in the HOF. I'd riot if he wasn't in the Hall. If you talk to the guy, he'll give you names of players on teams in certain years and knows their height and weight, too. He's awesome in baseball, but he's a killer in high school football, too.
