It is amazing that two QB's that live within a couple of miles from eachother collectively have over 30 D-1 offers between them.....and I am sure the QB from Grapevine will also get a few......

I am curious if the trifecta of SLC, Colleyville and Grapevine HS's has ever had QB's in one year garner this much interest????

It goes to show the kind of talent that is being groomed there......

Looks like McElroy has offers from: Texas, Kansas, NC, Ole Miss, Utep, Tx Tech, SMU, TCU and BYU.

Ponders looks like he has offers from everyone: Fla st, Ariz, Baylor, Ga Tech, Iowa St, NC, Okla St, Utah, Illni, TCU, Utep, Tulsa, Houston and others.

This Ponders kid sounds like his got some solid skills because his impressed a ton of scouts. :)

Looks like the Grapevine QB is getting some D-1AA offers from Texas schools. But some of the second tier D-1A schools are showing interest. :)

If your talking about Ponder earlier in the thread it said he committed to FSU. Kinda of hard for Illinois to compete with the big football factories when they dont have a geographic advantage.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. They would have a fighting chance for a Chicago kid but I doubt if a highly recruited blue chip from Texas would choose the Illini over FSU, USC, Ok, Texas, etc.

Illini signed a QB out of Texas two season ago. He played down in Brownsville and his name is Billy Garza. He was one of the top rated blue-chip QB in Texas and broke alot of passing records in the Valley area. I wont be surprised to see him get a couple of starting years at the Illini if he sticks out the first couple of years. :)

Ya, I think Garza is a solid player. I saw him play in the THSCA All-Star game and he looked pretty good in it. He looked like a really good athlete as well as heady QB. If he sticks out these first couple of years of bench duty I think he'll have a couple of starting years for the Illini. The problem is Illini is in the Big-10 football Conference so they have some big dogs they have to compete against almost every weekend.

From what I saw in one All-Star game... and from what I've read. His got a very solid arm. He looked very good in the All-Star game. I think he threw for 2 touchdowns in the game. His a pocket passer first, but his athletic enough to take off and get yards if the pass aint there. His a pretty decent size kid in the (6-2/195) range and legit 4.6 area speed. His got the skills to be a decent college QB.

Like I said... I think once he gets a couple of Bench Years under his belt. He'll have the ability to be a solid Big-10 level QB for a couple of years.

His a thrower and has a nice arm. :)

Ya, you better bring your "A" game against Penn St and NW also, because even as average as they have been lately, they'll still beat ya if you dont come to play.

oh i know theres not really an easy game in the big 10 at all, their some average or subpar teams, but man like you said, they'll win if you overlook them
