How many times have you either played in a game or watched a game that was decided by one crucial call.

How many times have professional refs missed calls?

A lot.

How many times have college refs missed calls?

A lot.

How many times has a high school ref missed a call?

Do not get me started.

High School football needs to have an option for Instant Replay.

The refs are not professional.

The calls are too damn important in a close game, in the fourth quarter and all too many times a bad call kills momentum or a play all together.

Instant Replay needs to be input in to high school football games because in some cases, a better team loses a game because of a bad call.

What do you guys think?

Absolutely not. :(

Not at the high school level. :p

who's going to pay for the tv cameras. it would require a minimum of 4. would only the games on tv be damned with this problem? what about inner city schools, or games played away from the small screen? no thanks.

yeah, if they can't even get instant replay throughtout all of college football then it is not a realistic thought at this level.

I like the idea, but the cost of doing this for over 1200 teams is out of this world.

No instant replay! I think it takes away from the game. The refs are part of the game and they make mistakes just like the players do. ;)

exactly, how do you expect highschool's too do it, if not all the confrences are using it (some did use it last year, big 10 comes to mind) plus imagine the cost and everything. plus human error (by refs) is part of the game

I think they should have someone (i guess a ref) in the booth just to review a play but don't allow coaches to challenge.

sounds good, but its still buying all the camera stuff and what not, but that idea is not bad at all

Camera shouldn't be too much....mostly because most districts have one or two stadiums they can buy one or two per stadium and I guess the equipment to use it.

i was just thinking, i think our team (slc) uses 1 or 2 cameras, cause i was behind the endzone and there was a dude with a camera high up on this pole thingy. anybody verify this

Most of the time those are being used to film the games for coaches and players use. They'll take what they record and go back and watch it later to review the team's performance.

This replay idea is the stupidist thing I have ever heard of.

Well, players deserve to get a fair game. And it wouldn't be all that expensive.

if its not all that expensive why not you buy it for everyone?

I don't think a school DISTRICT is gonna complain about a camera....especially if it's used for the all important football program.

Improvements in the reffing system - YES!

Instant replay? Not a chance, no need to even discuss it - it will never, every happen on the HS level.

No way. Most 5A stadiums don't even have the facilities to handle replay, much less 4A and below. The refs are part of the game.
