SA Lee. Judson has destroyed them in almost every game during the current 24 straight years streak and we may be due for a letdown this year. Lee has a good RB coming back.

I'd have to say Waco because they are our rivals and no matter how each team is doing in the season, anything can happen in the game....

Everyone in 14-5A is a threat to Lufkin, especially The Woodlands and Klein Collins. They are both good programs and we play them the last two district games of the season, so those games could have an impact on who makes the playoffs or not.
The Woodlands just has a good program, they are a big school with alot of kids to choose from and that shows in their offensive line, they are always big up front and are always a threat to run or throw the ball with someone like Burns or Drabek.
Klein Collins has Michael Goodson and his little brother on the way from the JV and some big Division I offensive lineman, they could be tough to handle.
Defensively I think both are less of a threat to stop Lufkin, but they did have some success last season, so nothing we do against them will be easy.
Teams like Klein, Conroe and Klein Forest will be much better this year, it will be a tough district race for sure.

5-5A had 4 teams in College Station for the 7 on 7 show, Haltom, Colleyville, Grapevine & Carroll. Add Denton Ryan & there will be some offense played this year..can the Dragons reload the mix of new players on D & slow all these teams down?

As funny as this may sound W.T. White is Carter's biggest threat. It seems that though Skyline is a more talented team, White brings their a game when they play Carter. Two years ago Carter only beat them by an extra point. And it wasn't a blow out last year either though the point spread was larger.
Perhaps, they come more mentally prepared against Skyline because they are a better team and have taken White for granted.
It reminds me of the year the Dallas Cowboys went 1-15. Didn't the one team that they beat win the Super Bowl(Redskins)?? On any given day...

The biggest threat to North Shore in the district is North Shore. There is not a team in the district that is even near the level we have been playing at the last five years. Therefore the only tht could stop Shore from winning another district title is theirselves.
As for what aspect of our game might be the biggest threat to our game. As talented as we are it seems it is always the offense that starts off slow.

Garlands biggest threat this year as always is South Garland... They have beat us two years in a row with great offense and awesome defense.

Leanders biggest threat is Pflugerville. When teams have a dominate running game, with alot of linemen coming back (Ramonce Taylor and Belton, Myron Hardy and McNeil, Evan Robertson and Pflugerville last year, Rupert Edwards and Cedar Park) they tend to have long drives, sometimes mounting to about 12 or 13 plays. That will give anybody trouble, but it seems like when we lose, except for against Allen, teams have just worn us down with 1st and 10, 2nd and 6, 3rd and 2, and back to first and 10. And Pflugerivlle returns plenty of linemen and Antwan Cobb, who yall will hear plenty about next year.

Negative, ghostrider. The 49ers won the Super Bowl in January 1990 by blowing out the Broncos.

In 16-5A, I think that Bastrop will be a play-off contender in their second year at the 5A level. They have a lot of speed and good numbers coming back. The biggest reason, however is that they are not in AISD, which automatically gives them a leg up on all the schools in AISD.

It's kinda funny how long an aura can be about a team. Even though Carter had one great year in 1988 and some very good years, I still think there's somewhat of an aura about them. The same goes for Daingerfield in East Texas. It's real hard to escape your past whether it's good or bad.

you are so pc sometimes packattack!! ;) the only threat i see to lufkin in district is the klein collin's game on the road. the woodland's will not hang with lufkin at abe and you can mark my words on that one. lufkin should have a fairly easily run in 145a once again and that is the facts not just because i am a huge lp fan.

Pack08, not so much PC as trying to give some respect to the other 14-5A teams and some wiggle room for the PACK. With a new QB, new O-line and new RB's on tap for 2005 it may a take little time for the Lufkin O to gel.
I am confident that we will handle our business well this year and I agree with you that the Klein Collins game, along with The Woodlands at Abe are pivitol games for all three teams.

hey i am all about giving respect but i simply disagree!! lets not kid ourself!! 145a was a joke for lufkin besides 3 quarters of the kc game and the woodlands game last year. i know they have a lot to replace on offense but i am more then confident they will be ready by district. the talent is there on offense and the defense will give them plenty of room for error.

No doubt the KCollins game at their place will be a big one - and they were tough last year.
TWHS will be a tough one - but they will get a major reality check traveling to LP land -- a different world for sure. Kinda amazing to me how poorly some teams travel during district -- but then they travel pretty well during the playoffs.
Bottom line -- Abe is probably one of the 4-5 most hostile environs in Texas - tough to win in Lufkin - period.

No doubt about it. LP could run the table up to these last two games and barely squeek into the playoffs as the number 3 team if they don't gel before then. However, if they look to these two games and past the others, they may miss out on The Show all together. This is going to be a very interesting season.

I think as a Lobo...ever team on our schedule is a threat. We play a smashmouth type of football game so if you can gang up on our run it makes it hard for us...aside from that the usual teams... Marshall, West Monroe, Evangal, Tyler Lee Red Raiders, Mesquite and North Mesquite. The playoffs sets us up with the likes of Lufkin, Southlake Carroll, and possible SV. I would say we have what looks like the hardest schedule in the nation... Which means to me Longview could lose one or maybe two games and win the state title and be classed as the nation's number one team...I will be interested to see if there is a team with a harder schedule than Longview this year with potential showdowns with Lufkin, Southlake Carroll, Sv and or Katy...

It's hard to say how the playoffs will unfold for matchups and who has the touhgest road. Judson had the hardest regular season schedule last year, but SLC had the hardest postseason and that put them over the top for the toughest schedule all year.
Beyond T Lee, Longview doesn't have as hard of a district as the other top districts. T Lee and Longview both play some good non-district games.
Another thing to consider when talking about the toughest schedule is that the tomato cans in the good districts really get it bad. Every team in 26-5A has a tough schedule, but Lee gets it bad because they have to play all the good teams. Judson and SV don't have to play themselves.

squeak in as the 3 team!! yeah and john outlaw might leave lufkin and go to nac to coach!! man, most lufkin fans were so confident they were going to destory 145a last year and sweep the district which lufkin did. what happened this year?? did lufkin lose 99 percent of their team and add some players from huntingon and did the rest of 145a add some nfl player to their roster?? no!! outlaw coached lufkin team's have not given you any reason not to be optimistic going into this season and you know outlaw will have them gelling in plenty of time. especially with the talent and potential each lufkin team has these days. i mean yall seem to have amnesia about the 2002 team and the 2004 team. both those lufkin teams had 3 times the question marks and both those teams went to the state semis. i am very optimistic about this team and i think they will be better then 2002 and 2004.

I would probably say the Rams of Elsik for Katy. I think Alief Taylor could be a tough game, but it will be a revenge game for Katy.
