From Staff Reports
Gary Joe Kinne, the Canton High School football coach who authorities say was shot by a player's father in April, said Wednesday that his health has improved enough to hopefully allow him to attend his team's first practice Monday.
"My plans are to be there," Kinne told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.
The summer has been a slow rehabilitation for Kinne, who was in critical condition after a gunshot to his abdomen destroyed much of his liver. He said he is not completely healed and tires easily.
Thank the Lord
