Your score prediction just confirms that all farmers and hillbillys stick together. We will talk more after Aug 27th.
You better just focus on The Woodlands  and let Ike worry about A&M.

The score sounds about right, it took a year just to find somebody to take the job there at Eike and then they eventually had to hire from within after a year of looking around. Thats a real vote of confidence for the coach from his schoolboard, I wish Eike luck in the future but it won't be happening against A&M Consol this season. This is their best team since their 4A days playing & winning in the Finals during the 90's. They may not go all the way in 5A this season but A&M will go deep into the playoffs.

I know consol has had some great teams in the past, and will bring it all game long, but what makes everyone think that this is their year to make a DEEP run. Ike will be much improved this season, and just might have something for them, unless LP plucks all their feathers again this year. :o

YOU MIGHT BE SELLING IKE TOO SHORT TOO SOON!
Ike has one bad season at 6-5 (mediocre to good for most teams) and everyone is ready to jump ship. The last non-winning season Eisenhower had was in 1996 when the Eagles went 5-5 and didn't make the playoffs. In the early 1990's, Ike was continuously going deep into the state playoffs making it to the semi-finals several times. After the one year slump, the Aldine Eisenhower Eagles stepped it up again and from 1997 to 2003 had a overall record of 74 wins and 17 losses (81.3%) with 21 playoff games in those 7 years. Three times to the semi-finals and once to the state finals.
Are there teams that have done better? Sure there are! The great teams like Katy, Midland Lee, Lufkin, Converse Judson, North Shore, Austin Westlake, and Southlake Carroll to name a few, all deserve the accolades that have been directed their way for their outstanding performances. However, with a few exceptions, Ike has played good games against most of these teams and their players, coaches, and fans will tell you BIG IKE will bring it to you.
Yes, Ike had a down year in 2004 and the coaching situation was very unfortunate. However, one mediocre year is not going to destroy this very good high school football program. Who knows, Ike just might be ready to start another 7 years of deep runs into the state playoffs!
Teams playing BIG IKE in 2005 just might ask themselves, is the Ike 2004 team going to show up or could this one be more like the IKE teams of the years past? Has the Ike team just reloaded? Might A&M Consolidated be a little too confident in playing Ike in 2005? We will see very soon. I know the Lufkin Panthers won't be over confident.....they will bring their game....they have played Ike and similar opponents before and can still remember the 2000 game in Lufkin's stadium with Reggie McNeil as their QB. A&M Consolidated is no Lufkin or any of the others I mentioned earlier.

A&M Consolidated was one of the best teams left out of the post-season last year, and must battle through a very competitive 13-5A in order to improve on last year's 6-4 record. The Tigers finished behind Copperas Cove, Waco and Bryan.
Overall, Consolidated fielded a very young team in 2004 and should benefit from that experience in 2005. Coach Slaughter's group is talented at many positions this year, and have the firepower make a run at the 13-5A crown.
Players like junior running back Daniel Palmer (5'9 195 4.4) and junior fullback Cleavon Jackson (5'9 220) are a couple of reasons why expectations are higher in College Station for 2005. Palmer earned first team all-district honors last year, and is a very explosive back. Palmer can break the long run at anytime, and his ability to squat 450 pounds is solid evidence that he can handle the collision nature of the sport. Jackson is a load at fullback in Consolidated's Wing T attack, and can get the tough yards. Senior Davis Orozco (5'8 160 4.4) should not be overlooked.
that's why i think a&m will sink ike..
i didn't say ike would be a weak team i just think a&m will be very strong
and do a lot better than the #24 ranking by this board...

Sounds to me, if they have a decent D, then they are ready.
Thanks for the info.

A&M was ranked as high as #8 mid way through last year before their QB went down at harker heights & Palmer broke his leg. This year almost their entire Defense returns - 7 players are 3 yr. Letterman that have actually played Varsity since their Soph season-not just sideline decor-The positions on defense that needed re-loading are being replaced with better players than the outgoing players. With this defensive group you won't need a lot of points to hang W's on the Schedule. It helps having the top kicker in the Nation (Jr.Syzmanski already comitted to Tex A&M) that can split the uprights consistantly fron 65+ out. Several Offensive Line return and most are a bunch of unknown players that overperformed throughout Spring Ball, the back field is stacked with RB's Palmer, Jackson, Orozco & Gay. QB will probably be Kyle Gideon a transfer QB out of Plfuggerville this season, great arm and mobile, just not much Varsity Experience but the RB's & kicking team will ease the pressure for the New guy calling the plays in the huddle. The entire backfield is loaded with young but mostly expirenced players - but the Defensive squad is what will carry this team deep into the playoffs.
