Every Coach in sports is probably asking themselves this question, but i wanted to see what you all thought about this...
So what do you think makes a team dominant in football???
If i had to answer this i would say the depth of the team, because having just one player good at that spot you can have a variety of players which would help out the team in case of injury. For example the Lufkin vs SLC game this past season. Lufkin didnt have depth in the qb position so they had to resort to taking out a leading wr and use him at qb which led to a loss. But if they would of had depth the game would of been a better match up.

Excellent coach, supporting school board, control of feeder schools by head varsity coach, smart kids with average to excellent skills.

consistently outstanding results. When their off night is still a win. When they are truly the only team that can beat them.
Someone earlier said Lufkin couldn't be considered dominant because they didn't have depth at QB in '05. That could be debated either way. But for any team not named SLC for the most part in the 2000's, LP has been very dominant, and usually, the winner.

No simple answers but if I had to come up with one...
Coaching, Community, Talent, Attitude, Resources
and a little bit of Luck doesn't hurt either.

Well whoever said that gotta a big mouthful of crow when the backup threw that huge TD pass in the Cove game to give Lufkin the win after Claybon broke his arm. Everyone at that point thought Cove would win

I have seen a few great teams over the years, and they all have three things in common: Character (Tradition, discipline, pride )+ Great coaching+ Talent. Some very good teams have two out of those three, but EVERY championship team I have seen, have all three.
