I personally was happy to see MW come to the Texans. I love good defense and if he proves himself, they have shored up the d with a monster. 6'7, 290 and runs a 4.6-4.7. And yes, I would have loved to see VY come here. He will have a vengence in his playing when the Titans play the Texans but I believe Kubiak knows what he's doing. As with any draft, time will tell.

I believe they made a good choice. They've added offensive firepower....now they need to put some rounds into the defense pistol....

It was a good Football pick, but not a good Public Relations pick. Also dont forget that our offense has been unable to score when they need too. Another thing, reggie or Vince would of brought a little more excitment then david carr eating dirt.

Over all the first pick was a good choice, not a popular one. It will dramatically help our defense.....and Kub. Better know what he is doing cause he passed up on the MJ's of the draft.

i predict the texans will be a dramtically differnt football team, and win some games......

Yeah but they might do just enough to possibly get themselves a top 10 pick next year.

Cause any other QB or RB would do so much better behind that line?

Well said HUM398. Not a public relations pick. Kubes is thinking of the team. The seats will fill as he builds his team and they start winning. I think we will see results this season. They can only go up. Pound for pound MW has as much athleticism as Young or Bush. I can remember the impact Ray Childress had on the Oiler defense. When MW is taking QB's down from behind, the naysayers in this town will be hard to find. He reminds me of Sean Jones or Javon Kersey more than Reggie White.

You would be suprised....im not sold on carrs ability as a Quarterback. Another thing dont you think if our Running game was a tad more Dangerous they wouldnt focus on carr as much opening up the passing game.

Look, i personally like the Mario Williams pick for the betterment of the football team....I wouldnt of picked him, but i like him.....

He is a great prospect, And he will fit very nicely into our system, With the additions to the line our Offense should be a little better.... We just need a RB who can back up Davis when he gets injured this year... And i beleive we have found him in the Former RB of University of Houston (smith)

excuse me for the sloppiness of this post...im about to go to work...

After the initial shock wore off I was happy with this pick but in recent days I've heard reports from NC State insiders that Williams didnt work hard in practice and most disturbingly, didnt always play hard in games. If this is true how hard is he going to work with $28m guaranteed? The physical ability is there for sure but does he have the competitive drive and the leadership abilities you want from a #1 pick?

We got a one pick thats was going to be the 4 pick in the first round not to smart i think.

This Williams guy has problems with his workouts does not give it all in the field.

He will have to give it his all if he wants to avoid losing seasons with the Texans but I think Kubiak will have this team ready to play this season.

Im willing to give him time to develop. If he truly is the next Julius Peppers than the Texans are in good shape.

Yeah if he is the player Kiper thinks he is, we will have a good shot at a winning record this season.

Yes a QB who can run.

Not necessarily! NFL speed is much faster than college speed. I'm not saying that Vince won't be successful because we don't know yet, but, look at Vick. The guy runs a 4.1 in the forty, and he still gets sacked alot. It doesn't matter if you have speed or not, no one can survive, or do well without an offensive line. I still don't know how Drew Bledsoe is still alive after playing behind that line in Buffalo.

Vick is no where close to the athlete Young is. Yes he is fast but, he doesnt have the physical ability that Young has. Another thing i would like to point out, Vick doesnt have the poise that young has in the pocket either. The two QBs may run but are completely diffrent, Vince is a throw Firstand Vick is a Run first.

Like you said speed doesnt matter, its your Understanding of your system and your overall Physical level. in both Vince has the upperhand.
