What schools have new head coaches this year?
Will those schools be better than they were before now that they are under a new coach?

It would be hard for Clemens to be worse.
Are you trying to set a new record for most threads in an hour? :p

You got me to respond, so that might be futile! :D

Lewisville has a new coach in Steve Gaddis from Longview Pine Tree. I dont know much about the man, I have heard that he is very creative on offense, and will adapt to his athletes, his teams from the past have been pretty balanced on offense, so that could bring some change to Lewisville as we still have not discovered the forward pass.
As far as us being better, it all depends on the kids. Coach Gage coached his heart out for the last 14 seasons, it will be hard for any coach to come in and duplicate what Coach Gage did for our program, however it can be done. Gaddis is coming in somewhat of a similar situation as Gage did. When Gage came in, we had missed the playoffs in 3 out of the last 5 years, in no time he got us back on track. I am hoping that Coach Gaddis can do the same, we have some talented freshman and sophmores in the school right now, and they could get a shot at some playing time, the one downfall of Coach Gage was he was loyal to his seniors and at times favored a senior over a underclassman.

Madison offense and Judson defense lead to 78-0 wins! Maybe not, we didn't change the head coach! :p

Judson will always have good teams because they always have good coaching. I am curious as to what they will do this year.
I think they could start out slow and lose a game or two but we shall see.
I think they could lose to PVille and SV and MAYBE Churchill.
I still like either SV or Judson to win 26-5A.

Don Willis is the new Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland, Texas. Coach Willis brings with him a history of success that goes all the way back to his high school career. For the past 22 years, Willis has been a coach at Millwood High School in Oklahoma City. During his 9-year tenure as Millwood’s Head Coach, Willis compiled a record of 91-24 with 9 consecutive playoff appearances and 3 state championships. As a running back in college, Willis helped Southwestern Oklahoma State University to the NAIA National Title Game in 1977, and still holds the record for the longest kickoff return ( 99 yards ) in the school’s history. As a high school player at Millwood, Willis was on the school’s 1st state finalist team as a junior. He participated in a 2nd state title game and was an honorable-mention all-state selection his senior year. Willis is modest about his success and cautious about the future. However, he is excited about the opportunity to coach at a 5A Texas high school that seems ready for a fresh beginning. Willis said that his first objective is to instill a new attitude and work ethic at Lakeview. He said, “The early going may be rough, but the main goal is to turn Lakeview into a consistent winning team.”
I played for him and he has a way of really relating to his players and getting the most out if him.. They should really improve under his system.

Our new coach is Gary Olivo who was offensive coordinator during Grapevine's 4A championships, and took Fossil Ridge to the playoffs twice and made the state semifinals one year with Ridge too.

If you can "recruit" the kids to come to Lakeview and play then you'll win. With GISD open enrollment policy or whatever that thing is, you tend to have the "better" kids go to one or two particular schools. LC's always had some talented players but never seemed to want to adhere to a team concept. Hopefully, Willis can do that. Good luck

I think Don Willis will get the Lakeview program going in the right direction.
Garland has a new offensive coordinator, Jayson Lavender (the former OC, Derrick Alford, is now HC at Quinlan Ford). Says he wants to continue running the Wing T offense, but wants to throw more out of it. We've heard this before, but maybe a new man will actually get it done.

Mark Wright at Granbury is continuing to build what Lebby started. I think the Pirates have a very good shot at the playoffs.

Nice synopsis on Coach Gaddis....farmerfan.
I must correct you though....Gaddis was the HC at 3A Longview Spring Hill,
which is a HUGE difference from Pine Tree.
Gaddis spent 2 terms as the HC AT Spring Hill "sandwiched" between a
stint at 4A Hallsville as the HC.
He also spent time in the Lewisville ISD (his very first coaching job),
then went to Cameron Yoe before spending several seasons as an
assistant at Longview High. By the way, he was also the starting QB
as a Sr. at Longview in 1974.
Spring Hill offered Gaddis his first HC job after the tenure at Longview.
Just wanted to add a little insight.
I'll also concur that he'll help "right the ship" at Lewisville in due time.

Add 5A John Tyler Coach Thomas Brooks to the list of 1st year HC's.
He brings a winning predigree to the table as he's won at both
4A Waxahachie and at his most recent gig at 4A Beaumont Ozen.
Word in Tyler is that he's already helped in bringing a few young men
back "into the fold" that had dropped from the football program under
the prior regime.

Coach Olivo is a very good man. I coached his son, Tyson, in city league basketball when they lived in Southlake. A class act.
I know this is disrespectful to Grapevine, but their 4A championships have always rubbed me the wrong way.
The first came the year the were moved down from 5A to 4A when Colleyville Heritage HS opened. They let the seniors choose which school to attend and about 95% elected to stay at Grapevine. That meant they had a HUGE 5A senior class but competed in 4A. Also, their star running back moved in with a relative to stay in Grapevine and take advantage of the situation.
The year they won their second 4A championship they finished 3rd in the district. They entered the playoffs in Division 1. Most of the top 4A teams were in Division II that year. Grapevine had a relatively easy road to the D1 title. No doubt my feelings are a bit of sour grapes because district champ SLC beat highly ranked Highland Park in playoff round 4 but lost in the semis to D2 champ #1 Stephenville on a long touchdown pass in the final minute of the game. Hats off to Grapevine because they won, but it feels much better when a state championship is won after beating the best teams in the district and in the state neither of which Grapevine did that year.

Summit's new coach is Kyle Gellar. Was the OC last year, so I wouldn't expect much to change. Maybe there'll be a little bit of a drop off from a lack of coaching experience.

Thanks for the correction on where Coach Gaddis is from, I am real excited about this upcoming year to see what he will bring to the table. Any other info you have on him would be much appreciated.
