As this article states, Lufkin's nemisis SLC will be full of new faces this coming season. If they find a way to win it this year with the rebuilding (or is it reloading) process they are facing, I will tip my cap to them big time; but as far as I'm concerned the road to the title still goes through Southlake.

Man, isn't that the truth... I'm surprised TxDot hasn't posted a sign saying just that... and with the SLC record, maybe they should...

The similarities with reloading in ‘06 are extremely close to what laid in front of Coach Dodge in ‘03. Number of seniors graduated; returning athletics @ RB, MLB; slot receiver going to play QB; etc.

Carroll will sail as always - until the semi's where this year they may fall to Lufkin. Let's hope both teams are reasonably healthy when they play.

When i read this i knew that reminded me of something but i couldnt put it together at first. But then i realized, that this is what Aggy sounds like every off season about the Longhorns. This is a very similar situation. How many times have we heard this over the years.
Just my humble opinion.

As a long time Carroll fan, thanks for the kind words. The Dragon fans that I know well (which are rather numerous) truly respect schools on the football field like Katy, Smithson Valley, Abilene, and Lufkin. Not trying to sell anyone else short, just a quick list. Many of us think that the Pack will be the favorites this coming season to win the whole deal. That being said, should Carroll be so fortunate as to make it to a matchup against Lufkin in the state semi, I will not bet against the Dragons. But in any event, it will be delightful to get to the 2006 season as soon as possible.

Nice article - I'm certainly not betting against the Dragons this year - until proven otherwise their system is the one to beat.

I have seen film of the Dragons playing and I must say they are a fine football team. Great team speed and very physical. Whatever you guys are doing, keep it up and good luck on the up-coming season this year.

they looked pretty good yesterday in practice. couldn't tell about the oline, but several experts are saying they have lots of potential. don't be surprised to see several sophs with signif pt next fall. that may or may not be a problem this year, but certainly bodes well for years to come, as next years frosh are supposed nto be the best to come along. but i digress. the wrs in general look very good, much more than adequate, and rd is as advertised. tre is and will be a beast. based on everything i know and believe to be true, i have them vs lp in the semis for another epic battle. unless we go big school, which has us vs berkner in the semis. i like our chances there better.

Dang Daddy, I'm trying to come up with a top 5 and you've got us in the semis! I'm in with that...
