I think this question is a no-brainer to alot of us but I want to know what you guys think. Did the Texans make one of the worst decisions in franchise history? IMO.

I realize it was not the most popular choice. But I think it was the best for the Texans at this point. I have never been a Bush fan anyway. The Texans need a workhorse, not a showboat.
It was a gutsy call on the Texans part but I think I have to give Kubiak a chance before I start telling him how to do his job. If it had been the same coaching structure then I may have questioned the choice a little more. Then again, who knows what they would have done? Better yet, who cares?

I really like Bush alot but I have trouble realizing that we made Willams our pick because we needed to strengthen our defense that was one of the worst in the league and one of the worst pass rushing defenses in the league and they have really improved that due to Willams in the 4-3 defense.

I voted yes and now I know that I will probably regret doing that.

just explain your vote and go with it...
I'm a conservative and I was wondering the same thing about 1 year into this term with W.

Your right Slorch. I think that they should have drafted Bush because he is the most explosive player in this draft and he was compaired to Gale Sayers and they chose to pass on him. IDIOTS!!

fair enough... but do you want 3-4 years of productivity? or 10-12 years from a guy they're comparing to LT and Julius Peppers? Nobody knows the real grade on the draft until about 5 years from now( I love the way Dave Campbell's does this on recruiting classes.)

Good questions. I have no clue whatsoever until I see these two play this year.

No, Reggie's agent talked themselves out of being picked number 1. Greed does not always payoff, I think they made the right choice picking a Defensive guy or even an o-linemen.

Houston won't regret passing on Bush. What they WILL regret is the fact that they are done with their first and second round picks and they have yet to address the worst offensive line in recent memory.

i voted yes but i dont think the texans will regret it too much. i think bush will have a successful career in the nfl, but not an unbelievable one like some critics are saying. the texans still have domanick davis, a pretty good rb if he can manage 1,000+ yards with a terrible offensive line.

If the offense does not improve then they better get ready for a fan revolt.
All they have talked about it to put David Carr in a situation where he can succeed.
Now Tell me, apart from Moulds, what have they done? Nothing.
We are in for a long season.
On a side note - I hope they show all the titan games here in Houston.

No, they already have a damn good rb...just no o-line...:(

God you're ignorant.
Az - stay in AZ with your cardinals. I don't care that you are a "true fan" or wherever you are from.
You have not been around the Houston sports scene long enough to understand.
You are stupid.

Challenge me, you may have been around "longer" (you're probably old), but being around longer doesn't always make one wiser, as is this case in this instance.
Only picked up Moulds huh? Let's see, we also signed a starting TE, a new center (former Pro Bowler at that), and have a new coaching regime who will come and not use dated offensive schemes that will get our QB killed.
I've said this from day one and I'll stand by it till the first kickoff of 2006, but just the change of a new coaching staff will improve this team, and new blocking schemes/play calling will show football retards like yourself that the offense is improved.

Older maybe. Wiser, absolutely.
When someone states their opinion and you don't like it - you hide behind the word ignorance. You can agree or disagree without using "don't let the door hit you..." "God you are ignorant"....
Disagree with me but don't make ignorant/stupid comments.
And if you have been paying attention. I did mention that bringing in Kubiak was righting a wrong. I hope they succeed. We wont' know unitl the fall. But failing to bring in Bush was a big mistake. And that's my opinion.

What do you care anymore anyhow? You're a Titan fan now.
You are being ignorant. Ignoring offseason acquisitions, ignoring the fact that our offense scored the same amount of touchdowns in 2005 as 2004, but gave up 70 compared to 48 the year before (thus proving that defense is what this team needs). Giving up on a team before a single training camp whistle blows. Sorry, to me that screams ignorance.
Just out of curiousity, how long have you "been around the Houston sports scene?"

There you go again - using the word ignorance. My my - it that the only way you come back at people. You need to stop doing that. I don't see anyone calling you ignorant when they disagree with you.
By the way. I congradulate you for paying attention. I did officially annouce that I was now a Titan fan. And I think that now ex-oiler fans will start jumping on the Titan bandwagon because of VY. I'll like to see who sells more #10 Titan jerseys. Houston or Nashville. My bet - Houston will.
I have been around enough time to endure consecutive 1-13 seasons and now 2-14. Where have you been - oh yeah - AZ.
If they prove me wrong - great. But Vince will still be a Titan and I will be a Titan fan.

Well I offered somewhat of an olive branch through a PM, but if you want to keep throwing up belt high change ups I'm gonna keep knocking them outta the park.
ig·no·rant Audio pronunciation of "ignorant" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (gnr-nt)
adj.
1. Lacking education or knowledge.
2. Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake.
3. Unaware or uninformed.
You appear to uninformed on the Texans offseason. You seem to lack football knowledge. Fits the definition to me.
1-13 seasons? Are you talking old Oiler days? Yeah you're right I probably wasn't around for those, I'm only 26. I am still a Texan season ticket holder. I sat through the first 3 seasons, and half of the 2005 debacle. I sat through awful Astros teams in the early 90s, and lest we not talk about the Stevie "Franchise" led Rocket teams. I've lived in Arizona a total of 14 months, and my heart still easily lies in Houston. Not just Texas, HOUSTON. This place is nothing to me, my friends here get sick of me talking about home. So the "what do you know you're in Arizona" smack can go, it's weak.
Point is, you don't know how good we have it in Houston. Every team goes through lulls, and every team makes decisions that aren't popular with the masses. But ya know, every time, Houston teams have shook the funk and bounced back towards the top. The Houston Texans are a FIVE YEAR OLD franchise. If they were racking up consecutive 2-14 seasons and going 7 years straight with double digit losses, all the crying and *****ing and moaning would have some legs. In this case though, it doesn't. Last season was a fluke, and most football people you talk to will say the same. 2004 was full of so much promise, and 2005 injuries and absolutely ZERO coaching stability led this team to 2-14. That record was the best thing that could have happened to this organization, because it got a horrible coaching staff the door.
Enjoy your Titans, they've had a great draft. I'll enjoy watching the Texans battle it out with them. I just think the mentality of declaring the Texans whiffed on taking the best offensive players and this will haunt them forever is a bit overboard. Now maybe one year from now, this could be revisited and then a full evaluation could be done after we've actually SEEN these players on the field.

We will see. AZ - you seem more civil in the private messages. Don't yell at me in front of the neighbors.
Drinking a cold one for you.
