Just wondering who yall thought was going to take the 2-5a district? I had read that it was 1.Monterey 2.San Angelo 3.Amarillo 4.Coronado..... I think that Monterey and San Angelo has a bunch of starters coming back so I can see why they will be picked to be good. I know that inexperience will be a factor because Coronado is losing alot of starters. Noone gave us(Coronado) a chance last year and we won district. So i hope that they suprise some people again this year.

I think you it's comes down to Monterey and San Angelo. After that any team has a chance. Outside of Monterey and San Angelo this district get weak quick. But the top two should be able to get to the second round of the playoffs.

I think Central takes it, mainly due to the number of returning starters and the fact that they play Monty in San Angelo. Central is hard to beat when they're playing at home in front of 15,000 fans.

I have a feeling SA Central is in for a very good year.

A lot will depend on how Central makes it thru non-district. We have to work our way thru most of 3-5A before district play starts. It's no fun having Abilene High as your first game, especially since they'll already have one game under their belts.

I still think that Coronado has a good shot at taking the district this year. If the defense holds up to last years 18 ppg I feel they will fair pretty good. Concerns on offense though....no particular qb standout this year.
